Wow, I didn't realize it took that much. I haven't made it to my 1st oil change yet.

2018 GT PP. Changed mine at 2252 miles. Per dipstick no visible consumption. Car was broken in easy for 1000 miles and since then has a lot of full throttle to near or at rev limiter blasts. Roughly 21 approximate 60 second autocross runs. My 2015 also didn't use oil between roughly 5000 mile oil changes. It was broken in the same way. Mobil 1 5w-20 just for the extra protection versus oem semi-synthetic. Currently using the extended service version at about $29 for 5 quart jug at Walmart.

FYI the reason for changing so early is because of an upcoming 3500 mile trip which will include lots of autocrossing and I want the possible extra protection.

What kind of break in procedure did you do? Drive it like you stole it from day one or baby it? I'm hoping my car really comes in this week. I'm planning on a hard break in with the first change at 1,500 miles with Motorcraft semi synthetic.
I babied it for first 500 miles...tried to vary the rpm as much as I could but my commute makes it really hard to do..

Half the people seem to say baby it 1000 miles and half say beat on it the first day so I took the average of the 2 lol

I put 100 miles a day during the week on her and so far car has been rock solid ..averaging 21 mph mixed with some spirited driving here and there..

About $25 bucks for a 5 quart jug of good synthetic at Walmart or Amazon X2 plus an oil filter. Much better with sales and rebates.

50-60 bucks for an oil change isn’t that bad at all.

FYI with the the new large diameter drain plug and the front of the car on 8" ramps the oil stream goes a long way. It overshot a relatively large drain pan even though I had it pushed back to where the front was just below the drain hole for when the flow slowed. Fortunately I had a very long drip pan to contain the mess. Add the cost of a roll of paper towels to the cost.

Sounds right. I think oil capacity went up for the 2018s. My 2016 takes about 8 qts.

You put 10 quarts in it or just had to buy two 5qt jugs? Mine takes 7.5.

I just changed my oil yesterday evening. 8 quarts of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Dipstick is at the second mark.

Guess the 2018's need more oil then.

I looked at the 2018 owners manual, and can't find the oil capacity, like in older owners manuals
My '16 was 8 qts....always mobil 1

10 quarts with filter for the 18 5.0. Look under Capacities and Specifications. In version 3 of the pdf it is on page 300.

Funny this is. I was going to post a thread the other day saying the exact same thing after thumbing through my owners manual. 10 qts.....wow.....My SS was 8 and i thought that was up there. Thirsty little bugger.
