051A Guard V6 Review

I like the look of the plastic dash (yes, the aluminum looks great too), but I am concerned that it will make the interior feel cheap. Can you say any more about it. Does it have a hollow sound when you tap it?

Whatever I get will be a daily driver, so if you get a chance please give us an update on your fuel economy.

I thought the same about the dash until I sat in the car for the first time. Like I said you have to see it in person to understand where I am coming from... While it is plastic and sounds like plastic when I tap on it I would classify as that expensive premium plastic feel rather then the cheap knockoff feel. By no way does anything in this interior scream cheap to me. (accept maybe the lack of chrome surrounds around the door speakers)

I totally agree with this. I sat in one today at the dealer and it is nice. Not as nice as a premium EB, but way better than the outgoing model. I was amazed sitting in it today to the point it is seriously an option. Only thing holding me back are options that I can get in the EB.

I personally think the chrome ascents are cheap looking...would rather not have them and have aluminum. I think chrome is tacky no matter what. ;)

That's correct. Gauges are white when the lights are off and stay white when the lights come on. No mycolor option... I personally don't mind the white color though. Something different considering my 2010 was ice blue.

Wow, that is the best looking 'base' mustang I've seen in a long, long time. Probably since the ~2002's where they came with 5-spokes as the no-option wheels. Those wheels go fantastically with Guard and may be the best with that color. The dash isn't even night and day from the turned dash in the PP, although I'm sure IRL the texture would appear different. Considering yours cost 60% of the equivalent Guard/PP/Prem, I'm thinking you made out like a madman after X-plan. Enjoy it!

I'm still on the fence till I drive both the V6 and EB, but I agree. I think they'll sell more V6's than they expect.

So does anyone here know what is going to be possible to add to a V6 to upgrade certain things to a premium trim? (obviously the wheels, pedals, diffuser are all easily doable).

I'm seriously thinking about going this route after seeing Zach's videos. The V6 just sounds nice. Just am trying to figure out what's possible and if the wiring/slots are there for things like leather/heated seats, the drive modes (which would require I'm sure some sort of PCM change) and the My Ford Touch.

I was on the fence between the EB and 5.0, but after your review I'm thinking V6! This car sounds great compared to the EB, and will get it's full 300 hp on regular. The 6 will also probably be cheaper to maintain. Additionally, it should carve corners better than the heavy, gas guzzling V8. For $24,000, this car is the real deal!

Congratulations on your new ride! Does Maryland require a Front License Tag? If not, I would have killed the idiot for mounting that Advertising Plate on the front bumper! I ordered a 2015 Base V6 Convertible too with the same 051A Package as well. You (did) order the Spare Tire, didn`t you, 66W instead of the Can of Sealant Goo and Mini Air Inflator, right? I ordered mine with Spoiler Delete 13D also.
