I can't think of a single occasion where I have been interested in a 0-60 time..
What speed I can carry through a corner, or how late I can brake are the things I care about..
Cause the auto is doing everything. My dead grandma could get a 4.5 0-60 in a a10.

Official numbers for 0-100 km/h (62mph) for European Mach 1 is 4.4 sec for automatic and 4.8 sec for manual, see this promotional video.

Those numbers seem slower than I would expect from Ford

Keep in mind they are for Euro Mach 1s. So slightly more mph, slightly less HP (460), no HP (the other HP), etc. But even with this in mind, I have a feeling that even these might be a bridge too far for the Euro drivers.

You’re right I forgot about those differences. It’s bullshit you don’t get the full 480 and handling package.

0-60 is 4.2-4.3 sec for US Mach 1 iirc, so 0-62 at 4.4 sec is fine with European Mach 1 with AT.

I'm more curious about 80-120 km/h (50-75 mph) or 60-160 km/h (38-100 mph) which is more useful on the street. But any of these numbers are really awesomely fine.

Here’s what Ford published in the euro brochure :

Bear in mind I think they typically aim for at least two misprints / mistakes on every page …

I did manage a 4.21 with a 1 ft roll out/4.44 without 1ft 0-100km/h with my A10 with 305 MP4S and BMR cradle lockout on the street

(0-60 4.06 1ft/4.28)

4.4 in a standard M1 with 275 MP4S tires on the street will be difficult with the A10

I also had an Afe drop-in filter, Velossa tech big mouth and I think H-pipe at the time

fastest 100-200 I got was 9.1 and 0-200 13.54(13.32 with 1ft) with my EU GT
The EU M1 should be similar

Those things are actually easier in a car with a good auto/DCT/PDK for all people that are not Randy Pobst, even he is faster in automatics I would think(maybe not much difference in corner speed, but exist speed)

I drive a manual myself on track and it is a mouthful at times. The same car with a good automated box, at least I would be faster around a track

As a Uk manual owner, I haven’t tried 0-60 properly but sadly, to me, the car does not feel remotely capable of <5s. Has very little shove until past 4K rpm, one of the only disappointments I have in the car. Pinning the throttle at say 5mph in first or 20mph in second results in very little drama and steady acceleration - in real world conditions. On most normal driving occasions I reckon feels slower than my previous A10 GT.

…but, once in the right gear on an empty and twisty road it is epic!

Easily fixed if you don't value your factory warranty.
Just needs 3.7 rear gears to wake it up and then a tune, there's likely another 30 hp in a good aftermarket tune.
It would be a different car and its the way it should have been exported.

That does not seem promising haha
Maybe a Tune would help and perhaps using a lower gear ? Are you shifting at the top of the rev range

That may be the way to go, never had a tune on my two previous S550s. Don’t get me wrong, it is a quick car but very easy to get caught out in real world driving - leaving a junction, exiting a roundabout etc. I know how to drive it and change gear at the right time but still it can get caught napping!

Not sure about the diff gear swap - presume this will hurt top speed and have been impressed with how the car piles on the mph at high speeds when it gets moving

I have seen the standard dyno curves somewhere before and this certainly explains it.

I've done 4.8 0-60 with standard tires/pressure in the M6. Just tried about 5 times to get it. I believe 4.5 is doable. Just need to get things "just right".
Never match the A10, that's true. 0-60 matters to me but does not top the list of things I want the car to do. Nothing like jamming it in a lower gear and "getting on it". The A10 doesn't compare to that unique experience.
