I was never crazy about PPF, but seeing the impact track days can have on the paint, I had to pull the trigger. 1st step I had a "doctor" in scratch correction fix the scratches from last track season, then straight to Detailers Domain for the PPF. Progressing very well and I should have the car back by end of the week. I though to share the progress... :D

Maybe it will help be gain 2 seconds at the track :p

PPF includes:
Front bumper
Lights
Full hood
Full front fenders
Mirrors
Lower door panel (raised, above lower edge)
Rocker panel (behind door edge back to wheel opening, down to bottom seam)
1/4 panel (above rocker panel seam) up to top of wheel arch (follow trim line from body crease behind door handle)
Lower L/R rear bumper (follow upper edge of reflector down, back to the corner)
Inside door sill plate
Apillars

Nice pix. I have wanted to get PPF for mine, but have never found the time. Wondered how it looked.

Saw your first pic and thought "what did he do to beat it so hard its bleeding?"

Eh, no problem, and the nice part is it is no biggie for them to have that 6 inch strip of PPF installed.

Ha!!

I just had Phil at Detailers Domain do the same exact job on my challenger Hellcat. I aginiziaed for months with the decision to do this or not.

In the end I figured it's worth it since I'm a stickler for a clean car and rock chips tend to keep me awake at night hahaha.

Phil is one of the best around, everyone I spoke to about his reputation had nothing but good things to say. The only negative I heard was the high price. But as we all know, good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good.

You in Bergen County? I'm in Rochelle Park.

When the weather gets nice and I bring the hellcat out of hibernation I'd love to meet up and check out one of these 350s in person.

Phil at Detailers Domain is the best! I met him in Nov after talking to few other installers, and he was the most professional and detail oriented by far. As you said, his work is not cheap, but for this kind of work we need the quality. It still took me 2 months thinking about it though before pulling the trigger hehe.

I already feel better doing it because I'm tracking the car, and the season starts mid March. Do you track the Hellcat at all?

I used to be by you, I'm now 30mins away in Summit area. I didn't mind the 50min drive to Phil. I'll do it for quality work. :)

For sure we can meet up, let's hope the temps go up soon!

HAhaha! It's so funny man, It still took me 5 weeks to decide to pull the trigger and spend money on something that won't make me go faster, turn better or stop quicker. As well as for me to get used to the idea of leaving my car with someone for weeks.

When I picked up the car after he was done with it the money spent was not even a thought. The car looked amazing !!! He was very accommodating as far as me dropping the car off and picking it up. His attention to detail and professionalism won me over as well.

I don't track my hellcat, I do take it upstate NY and drive it hard on their back country roads and through Bear Mountain. Tons of fun up there, your 350 would be a blast to drive up there with all the winding roads.

I'm currently in the process of deciding between doing a 900 hp build on my hellcat or buying a 350. It's going to be one or the other, I'm honestly leaning towards buying a 350 since no matter how hard I try, the hellcat is just not built for road course work. That's the reason why I'm on this forum, I want to educate myself on the 350 to make sure I'm picking the right car.

The hellcat is an absolute blast on the street and it demands your full attention all the time or it will literally kill you hahaha. I refere to it as the led pipe. The 350 will be more like the samurai sword, refined, presicion and purposely built for finess. That's what I want, I already have a tourqe and straight line monster with the hellcat, I want to experience the joy of a road course, hellcat is not the car for that.

As long as the roads clear up and the weather breaks I'd love to meet up with ya man, to check out your 350 up close.

Funny, we had the same experience with Phil :D He just emailed me, the car is ready and I'm picking it up tomorrow!

For sure man, wait to experience the GT350 before your next move. You'll love it! I like the way you described it, like a samurai :ninja: The GT30 and GT350Rs are by far the best handling cars Ford ever build, I'm not counting the Ford GT :hail: They are made specifically for road courses.

Of course, I love modifying (not that the GT350 needs it), I'm making it more of a track car rather than a daily driver.

When I see you I'll go over all the stuff  And upstate NY sounds fun.

Right on brotha! A spring time meet up and a blast upstate NY is on the menu. Looking fo ward to it. I'm not a big drinker but I know a good spot upstate across the river from West Point College to sit down, get a brewsky and talk cars.

A good PPF will hide imperfections in the paint and is self healing. Wise choice pulling the trigger.
