Ok so I've pretty much narrowed down my tire choices to these two. I used to want 285/40/19 but I think I have decided on 285/35's

RE11
Pros
Less expensive, potentially more grip and predictability.

Cons
Heavy, Outdated

MPSS
Pros
Great DD tire with great grip and longevity.
Will save a total of 12lbs of rotational mass over the RE11s

I'm leaning towards the RE11's for it's pros. My main concern with them is weight. Longevity isn't much of a concern in with these tires. But longevity is the reason i'm not considering the 71rs

I've had the MPSS on other cars, they are a great tire. Unless you want that maximum grip of the Bridgestones they are no comparison to the MPSS at all, the MPSS will do everything better.

Personally I haven't had good experiences with past cars on Michelin's. But I've had great experiences running Potenza's of various levels. So I will always choose them over the PSS.

I looked at the rs3s but they don't have them in the right size

I'm in the market for 285/35r19 tires as well, and really liking the reviews and PRICE of th bridgestone s-04 pole positions. They are a heck of a deal at $225 a pop, BUT, they weigh 33lbs each. That is 5lbs more than MPSS of the same size. 20lbs more total. The RE11 seem like a good in-between, without going over $300 a tire. The RE11 aren't light either, but def lighter than s-04.

Another option is the continential extremecontact DW. they are the lightest of the bunch at 27lbs, and have great wet traction, but cannot compete with any of the ther options in cornering stability and dry traction. Only $250 a piece.

not thread jacking here, but the Bridgestone S04's i just got a week ago are phenomenal, ive had only 3 max summer tires and these are crazy amazing, steering response it so instant i thought something was wrong with my car at first. It makes me wonder how MPSS could be better.

It's reviews like this that keep pushing my towards the s-04, despite the weight.

I guess I am just trying to convince myself that they are too good to be true, due to the price.

S-04 is definitely better than the Pirellis. Sounds like you would be happy with them. I don't think you would want anything more than the MPSS'...they are much better than the S04's. Honestly just your choice of grip vs longevity at that point. Grip wise it seems like RE11>MPSS>P04. Bridgestone 71r > anything besides hoosier a7's or another dedicated track tire.

S-04 is a very very good tire (have them). RE-11 is completely different class than MPSS or S-04s. Last two are awesome in all conditions including wet until it gets cold.

I was curious about the S04 when I was tire shopping for my Fiesta ST, the old S01 and S02 were great tires back in the day.

the S04 is a great choice

If you can the MPSS is a great all day tire, however if you need to pure grip bliss of the RE11 then thats a good one, but not the best for rainy or wet conditions, thats where the MPSS has that really good everyday functionality.

I too was worried about how heavy the s04 was but after speaking to people I highly respect who do this for a living they called me all sorts of profanities jokingly questioned my intelligence then proceeded to suggest I lose weight , stop wearing clothes when driving and never fill up my gas tank over half way. Lol
Essentially they were getting at is that when you have 435hp and at least 3800-4000 lbs of mass, driver included, that 10-50-100 lbs makes barely any difference even at the holy grail of places, the sling areas so forget it and get the s04. $1100 for all 4 installed gives you money for other upgrades, even new rims for the $$$ saved. But again I've never driven mpss
