FYI from Ford Service (Jeff).

You can still order 2015 Mustangs until May 28th. If there's people disappointed that they missed out on the 2015's, and there's somewhere you can direct me, I'll post an update.

Yeah but what about 2016s - do orders for those still start on May 11th? And why hasn't ford released any pricing and options info on 2016s yet?

We haven't been given an official date yet for 2016 ordering. As of the last update, the order bank is scheduled to open mid-June. Pricing and option info will be released closer to that time. I recommend checking in with your dealer, as they'll have the most updated info as well.

Thanks Jeff. I was planning on ordering a 2016 next week but I don't know if I can wait any longer and may just order a 2015 instead.

I was on the same boat. I wasnt sure if i wanted to wait for 2016 or not. The decision to order a 15 became clear. When i got a hell of a deal to order a 15. The plus side is my deposit is refunable and i got to wait only 2 months vs 5-6 months. As soon as the MY16 details are concrete if they really WOW me(which i doubt). Then ill just cancel the order and change it. I wait a while to order a 15 to be sure the majority of the kinks were out.

Hold On, So now you can still order a 15? I have a dealer trying to rig a trade for a car that is acceptable but maybe not the optimum set of options for me but has it priced under invoice. If I could order almost the same car I would do it.

Is this still an option to order a 15?

Looks to be the case.

Thanks Jeff,
I was going to wait till June to order my 2015 also but I guess if there isn't like a 10k a price difference, I'll happily take a 16.

At this point I'm leaning in this direction. I'm sick of the wait/anticipation and just want to get an order in at the very least. Is there any real penalty to canceling an order? I do really want SYNC3 but I've just had it with the waiting.

btw, don't know if I asked you this before, but which dealer in South Florida did you order from? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post that info here.

I'm checking with Donlen and their factory schedule page. Obviously if Ford Service is saying we have till the 28th, then the factory page is wrong.

I'm gonna wait for the '16, still holding on to the faint hope that they will offer the PP on the Auto GT'S. :headbonk::lol::crazy:

Yeah, bring on the hate. I'm just not a manual guy. Yes, it is my fault and I do suffer the consequences. (no PP GT, no Focus RS, no Focus ST, no WRX STI, no Camaro 1LE, etc....)

the older we get the more a auto may be needed. My 15 is a stick but unless I get a 350 it will be my last stick. Granted I want a better Auto then what's currently in the 15 Mustang. It has to match the hellcat's auto then it's game on for Auto and my knees getting older.

Plus if you drag race Auto has been proven faster.

I was considering a Challenger, and if I had bought that I probably would have gone with the new 8 speed auto. It helps that Challengers are more cruisers and that the 8-speed has the shift-tonic on it as opposed to only paddles, which I'm not a fan of.

I'm sure Ford will introduce an 8 speed soon enough.
