one of the reasons (besides power/torque) it feels like it revs faster than older engines is the gearing, stock for stock. the 6 speed transmission and optional rear ends have allow closer ratios and shorter gearing at low vehicle speeds.

It's not a 4-on-the-floor

Hmmmm been driving a stick for some 40 yrs; probably bounced off a rev limiter maybe 6-10 times. Not sure bouncing off the rev limiter is a bragging point guys.
Not bragging. It's what the car is meant to do.

Hell, the OEM rev limiter is set conservatively.

I agree, these cars do rev quick. I've hit the rev limiter a few times, I can say. After driving my 87 for 24 years, with 3.73 gears for about 10 of them, it is still a big difference. My last daily had a Yamaha designed head with a 8,300 redline which was fun, but these cars I swear rev even faster.

My 14 hit the limiter a lot until I learned how to use the select shift. You don't hurt a thing when you hit the factory rev limiter on a Coyote.

Just so the OP is aware..the warranty changes to 3/36 instead of the original 3/36 and 5/60. The 5/60 powertrain is void once the power pack is installed. Everything stops being covered after 36k, even if you put the power pack on with 35k miles.

Not completely true on the entire 5/60 being void. Engine? more than likely.

Mine stops at exact 6500rpm
Ford Power Pack 2 keeps your warranty and pushes the rev limit up to 7000.
Pretty sure the stock limiter is at 7000 from the factory. That or my car has a faulty limiter and lets me rev to 7000 cleanly everytime.

The PP2 does nothing to the limiter, only the PP3 goes to 7300 I believe (confirmed by one of the FRP reps).

The last car I had was a 79 Capri with a 5.0 that I drove for a decade back in the through high school and college. It had a auto transmission that I pretty much just hot rodded around in 2nd gear, winding the engine out routinely. I don't even remember it having a rev limiter, did they even have those back then? Anyway jump to the 21st century and I'm loving my GT, but have hit my rev limiter more than I should admit. I found out why I was doing it so much at first was I had my stereo blaring and couldn't here the rpms. Once I clued into that it became almost a non issue if I remember to leave my stereo down. I just have to pay more attention to the tach if I want to listen to music, but it's so much more fun listening to the engine and shifting.

The rev limiter is pretty low for the Coyote. Most cars cut off at about 500 rpm above the redline. Coyote cuts off right at the redline.
