Don't lose hope in FP. The GT500 will be a BAMF.Haha I dunno, it's gonna be hard to beat if it's AWD and 800+ HP like the rumors are suggesting. Listening to all these Ford press conferences makes me realize that Ford is fixated on "the city of tomorrow" and the all-electric autonomous future. It kind of makes me lose hope in Ford Performance. Yes, I'm sure they'll put out a few more great models, but I don't think performance models really fit into their long term plan at all sadly. Dodge's plan may be short sighted, but I for one am glad they're churning out all these awesome models while they still can.
I can't believe I just had to Google BAMFDon't lose hope in FP. The GT500 will be a BAMF.
Interesting thing. I just purchased a IS250 AWD yesterday for DD and the AWD has a little hump drive side by your feet towards the center console. It's only the AWD that has it', not in the RWD. I guess it was to fit the front differentials in. I guess they could possibly do the same. I honestly didn't even notice it though until I read about it then I was like OH damn, yup there it is.Idk how much space there is in the front end of the challenger/charger. The hemi with the supercharger is a tall engine and I wonder if you can get a differential up front let alone one that can handle at least 300 hp. Usually you have to lift the engine up to fit the front running gear for AWD, or at least offset the engine. They added AWD to the v6 cause that is far easier to accomplish.
My money would be more of just a widebody car to compete against the gt500 which is basically just a boosted gt350
But that is for a tiny 2.5L v6 not a huge 6.4L with a blower on top. That hump is just for the transfer case.Interesting thing. ^^^The gear-heads understand this fully, it's the guys/gals that get caught up in numbers that don't understand the Challenger is overweight compared to the Camaro & Mustang. It has the most power/torque for an Americam production car, but it leaves a whole lotta "performance" on the table due to its girth. If they ever decided to cut weight on that platform the Challenger would be the wholly grail (at least in stock form - rolling off of the assembly line).Where is everyone getting AWD? Even if it is AWD, what are we looking at here, 4,800 pounds 800 HP? The Hellcat is already a boat, adding AWD will add hundreds of more pounds. They talk about tenths in the 1/4 and straight line speed, but ask any drag racer and they will tell you weight is just as important.
