I am having the EXACT same clutch chatter issue as you. I've taken the car in 4 times as it keeps getting louder and they keep saying its normal.
My car has 4900 miles and a stock DS
i hear you there.
Ill be posting a video soon.

clutch looks like it was overheated. What did the flywheel look like ?
Probably over heated on the side that friction material failed after is started coming apart and the clutch was slipping.

We keep seeing this same clutch failure, and I'm thinking there must be some kind of defect going on with the riveting of the friction material to the disc, or something along those lines.

Update: I got a call from my dealership yesterday stating Ford got in touch with them, after reviewing my case, and would be replacing my clutch under warranty. I should have my car back by Saturday, maybe tomorrow depending on parts shipping. I'm quite pleased.
Good to hear!!!

Seriously, what the hell is going on with our cars? Mine just went into service for a similar issue (believe mine is the dual mass flywheel). They're replacing it under warranty, but it doesn't seem right something would break after a few 1000 miles under normal driving conditions...

Having same issue as you. How did you manage to get them to replace your clutch?
They want to charge me $500 to the tranny out to inspect for burnt spots on the clutch plus $1500 and tax for the new clutch.

For those of you who had/have clutch problems, have you removed the clutch spring? Removing the spring allows the weight of the pedal to put some pressure on the master cylinder. Would it be enough to simulate riding the clutch pedal and thereby burn out the clutch?

I didn't even try to push to get mine covered as they would just put the same crap clutch in. I didn't care to be left on a road coarse after one lap dead in the water with a blown clutch. Installed a McLeod RST and has held up good

problem with that is it costs 1000+ for new RST clutch, light flywheel and labor.

I am currently having clutch problems, and I DID have the spring out for a year or so before installing the steeda spring.

My master appears to have no leaks and fluid level OK. Hope the no spring didn't do this.
