The clutch in my v6 took a crap today. 5600 miles. Wasnt slipping, just broke when i downshifted to pass somebody. The car has a few bolt ons but nothing crazy. I havnt been exactly easy on the clutch but i havnt been slipping it at all. I just contacted ford...i hope they can do something, nobody even has replacement clutches yet. Just spec, and you have to buy their flywheel for it to work. Anybody else had a clutch fail and what did ford say?

Damn :(

Please keep us posted on this matter.

I am wondering what the dealer is going to say because of your current mods (especially the tune).

Yeah, ill put what i can back to stock....thats even if they will take it in. Ive heard if its drivetrain, other mods dont normally void that...unless its like a supercharger or something. Even with 30 or 40 extra hp..theres no reason for the clutch to fail. The real problem is i cant even find a replacement clutch, unless i spend 1k and get a spec clutch and flywheel

V6 and GT have the same clutch, right? It is supposed to handle well over 400 HP.

I thought so. The clutch still grabbed hard. After i down shifted to pass a car, it felt funny when i put it back into 6th. About 10 miles later and a few shifts later, it felt real wierd....the trans felt fine, and the pedal felt fine, but then the motor could be reved and the car would do anything. Once i coasted to a stop, i put it in first and let the clutch out....all kinds of racket coming from the bellhousing area, amd not much movement. It also makes a bunch of noise when the car starts lr when you shut it off

When you down shift, do you try and rev match?

Guy on the phone said it should be covered even with a exhaust. I put the stock intake on and removed the jlt oil seperator and put the stock tune back in. Now i guess they can pull the abused card on me, but. Its a mustabg not a prius, do they only cover issues when driven like a priua or what? Unfortunately i cant erase my tracks aps data showing a 13.3@105 and a 4.9 0 to 60 lol

depending on whats broken I bet they will deny you based on the tune. Might as well have left the aftermarket tune on because they don't look for the tune itself, they look for how many times the ecu has been flashed and you just added another to it.

V6 running the same MT82 as the GT ? Modded V6 shouldn't be a problem. There was someone with a GT350 that had a bolt come loose in the transmission. That car has a Tremec. Who knows. They will need to do a tear down to make a proper diagnosis.

Even still, ive heard since its a driveline issues, a tune doesnt matter. Obviously if it was a blown motor they would be like hell no.

Curious, what numbers do you have on your accelerometer? Can that be reset/erased?
