Key only helps to unlock the carHere's the key, by the way.
But yes, just press the power button but don't press on the brakes.

If memory serves me right, you lift the liner inside the cup holders up and it should be underneath. There is a slot for the fob.Edit: The transmitter/fob will help start the car if the transmitter battery dies as well. Found this info on a Ford video. Please confirm if it applies to the Mustang.

I know bro but my local dealership (s) here suck :(Some of you guys are overthinking this stuff way too much. Your local dealership is not the NSA.

There are a million Ford dealerships in southern California so I imagine a common sense dealership would not be too difficult to find. Your warranty is good at all dealerships, not just the one you bought the car at.I know bro but my local dealership (s) here suck :(
They told me ANYTHING I DO will void my warranty. . I asked okay what if I have a CAI and my clutch goes out.. they said it will still void no ifs or buts. They are not reasonable whatsoever
Factor that that in with shit happens then one must be cautious.
Ppl keep forgetting that in order to get the frpp warranty the tune has to be uploaded by the dealership so you can't just take it off and put it back on whenever you likeWhen Ford procal comes out, anyone tuned considering buying this tune, have it installed and flash it to your regular tune of you don't like it?
This way, Ford knows that the flashing of the ecu was done on one of there products and will warranty it. I guess we can look at the procal as insurance? This will work if the procal works the same way as SCT, cobb, etc.and they can't tell what tune you used to flash it.
They cannot see how many times.Question and too many contradicting answers to this... can the dealer see how many times you flashed or they can ONLY tell that you have been flashed? I also heard someone mentioned they can only see key cycles..
Confused! :(
Thanks BJ but I'm still confused! Lol forgive me, first time dealing with tunes, warranties, etc. They cannot see how many times.
They CAN see that it was.
The factory PCM is known to retain as many as 100 changes. Thus, if you're returning to stock, I HIGHLY recommend you start and stop that car a lot before it goes 'home'. It's key cycles that are counted.
Does that help?
bj
Don't overthink it. There's no sliding scale here. It's "around 100" key cycles. Play it safe and do more than 100. At that point, all it sees is key cycles and the pcm coming to life. Eventually the event of it coming to life with another tune will go away. Thanks BJ but I'm still confused! Lol forgive me, first time dealing with tunes, warranties, etc.
If they can see that I HAD a flash, what is the purpose of cycling the key on/off since they will do everything to deny my warranty anyways..
Say, if I have 1k miles on the car and something goes wrong, i tune it to stock, cycle the key 50/60 times.. Am I in the clear since in 1k miles, 50/60 key cycles is plenty sufficient?
Please don't get me wrong, there are people having problems with engine problems on fully stock cars as well as modify ones. If my tuned caused the problem, I have NO PROBLEM footing the bill. I have a very reliable tuner and I just don't want to pay for things that wasn't directly caused by modifications.
Dealers are QUICK to deny warranty claims when they find a tune.. whether or not the tune caused the problem.. and that blows :frusty:
