I finally got my Steeda billet shock mounts installed. I was amazed when I opened the box. Not only are they billet but also bigger. These things are beefy! Plus the bearing in them, I read about that from others before I got them but holding it my hand, it's extremely clear this isn't a simple billet replacement of the stock part, wow! Plus I love the assembly. Torquing down the one collar nut instead of fooling around with the jam nuts. Thank you Steeda for another piece of great engineering to make my Mustang that much better!

I got the Steeda pro action adjustable shocks and struts. I didn't install them yet and was contemplating getting these.

I installed the 555-8161 kit on top of my Roush V3 (KW) shocks and the mount fit perfect on those shocks. I even installed the Steeda bumpstops in place of the OEM ones to try those out. I did need to trim away the little tabs at one end of the stops to get them to slip over the Roush shock shaft but wasn't a big deal.

I haven't driven the car very much yet but it is clear there is just the littlest bit less jiggling going in the rear than before.

Nice job Steeda!

There are so many ways once could go with the statement above about jiggling ... :bolt:

Steve, now that you have some miles on the car ... do you have additional feedback?

These were a huge hit during our recent 15% off sale ... the more feedback, the better!

I installed my billet mounts yesterday. Went for a short test drive earlier and the back of the car definitely feels more composed and didn't have the slight bounciness it had before.

So would you say comfort is improved?

Hi there

I have FRPP track dampers which came with their own mounts which FRPP say are uprated.

Would these Steeda mounts still be a good upgrade for improving ride/composure over the FRPP items do people reckon?

Gibbo205I would say so considering after I installed the FRPP toe bearings and BMR lower control arm bearings. Those improved the drivetrain's and suspension movement although I definitely hear more feedback from the rear suspension. I could tell a slightly unsettled rear suspension when cruising between 55-65 mph some sections of pavement and expansion joints on bridges would upset it noticeably that is now gone with the billet mounts.

It seems these help the rear shocks do their job and control the suspension movement better.

Unfortunately, I don't have many miles on the car since install but a big test is this weekend at our first autox events for the season.

Since I installed these mounts I then did vertical links, cradle lockout, LCA bushings, toe link bushings, rear camber bolt kit, and I'm sure a few other things I can't remember. So, I've been trying to dial in the new hardware, alignment and get a feel for the 'new' car I've got under me now :D

I just installed the shock mounts 2 days ago, and I can feel the rear suspension has larger articulations than before. This is especially obvious when going over speed bumps. The rear end used to make a rubbery noise due to the possibly binding, now it is totally gone. Also the impact is noticably smaller due to larger movement of the wheel.

I think this is a worthy modification, it's much more than just a stronger part. Like other people have said, it allows the rear shock/spring to work as intended.

Thanks terryz - just the review I was looking for.

Just got to installing these today. I can echo what many others have said that the rear feels noticeably more composed and compliant. Body oscillations and uncontrolled movements are gone or hugely reduced. Less noise and harshness from the rear of the car overall. Ride is just flat out better after putting these on. It also seems to make the car more eager to turn-into corners.

10/10 would do again and recommend, particularly for anyone with higher rate springs than stock or with significant IRS/cradle mods.
