  1. Voltage drop when parked

Hi all, I'm restarting this thread as things went from bad to worse... I followed the advice to minimize battery drain. I also disconnected my tracker. However, with a brand new battery fitted, It still suffered an overnight voltage drop and within a few days it needed a charge to start...
  2. Voltage drop when parked

Thanks for the great advice. I’ll run through the list. I do have that Battery Conditioner (branded CTek) but I don’t have permanent mains power to my carport currently, so only use it with an extension lead on an ad hoc basis, which I appreciate defeats the object.
  3. Voltage drop when parked

I'm trying to figure out if I have an issues with parasitic voltage drop. Over a 7 day period with a brand new battery, the voltage dropped from 12.7V to 12.3V. So it's losing 0.4V per week. When driving, the voltage sits at a steady 14V+ When the car was new, I drove it more and never...
  4. What's this noise from the console area?

Today I notice a repetitive noise coming from the center console area. It's very quiet and may have always been there, although the video makes it should really loud! (like 10 times louder than it really is!) It's there when the engine is running and when I switch off, with the console still...
  5. Battery box and clamp

I had to remove the plastic clamp in order to change my battery. When I went to put it back in, the female threaded part under the battery box has moved, so I can't tighten the clamp. It looks like I need to remove the three bolts at the base of the battery box to get at it. Before doing...
  6. Replacement battery that fits

Doh, I missed out on the discount. I just fitted an HSB 075 which worked great. Took me 30 minutes as I didn't realise it has spacers attached that have to be removed to get the clamp to fit.
  7. Replacement battery that fits

Thanks for all the pointers. Iā€˜ve figured it out now. When I looked at batteries 3 years ago, Halfords recommended HSB 013 which was too tall (190mm). They are now recommending HSB 075 which is correct at 175mm. Cheers David
  8. Replacement battery that fits

Hi, I need a new battery and tried the Yuasa recommended by Halfords, but itā€˜s too tall and the battery cover wonā€˜t fit neatly. Can anyone recommend a good quality battery with high amp hours that will fit? Cheers David
  9. Minimal Spacers

That makes sense but I just want a small adjustment on the front e.g. 10 -15mm max. I'm not into the 'tight to the wheel arch' look which is all the rage. But it seems like you can either go for a very thin spacer (say 5mm) with the original studs or use the bolt on type at 25mm+. Between the...
  10. Minimal Spacers

Thanks Norm. With the non-bolt on type, is there a safe thickness? I’ve seen 5mm and 8mm for sale.
  11. Minimal Spacers

Hi guys, I'd be grateful for some advice. I have the Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs on my car and I love the stance. I often get favorable comments. I don't currently run spacers and I'm not a fan of getting the tyres really tight in the wheel arches. I know it's a very popular look in the...
  12. Rusting bodywork

Congratulations! Similar experience to my own. Stayed determined but respectful and built a good relationship with my nominated Customer Services person. Also didn't have the stamp but invoice did mention bodywork inspected, which was good enough.
  13. Oil cooler kit

Thanks. I imagine at some point you'd also get an Oil Pressure warning. Cheers David
  14. Oil cooler kit

Ah, so nothing noticeable at the point it happens while driving? cheers David
  15. Oil cooler kit

Hi guys, Dumb question, but how do you know the Oil Cooler has gone e.g noise, dash oil pressure light, loss of power? I presume you need to come to a stop instantly. I'm booked in to get it replaced as a precaution but you never know... Cheers David
  16. Rusting bodywork

My experience was about 10 weeks from beginning to end. Once the car went in for inspection, Ford customer services called the bodyshop and me twice a week for progress updates. One thing to understand is Ford Customer Services and Ford Warranty Department do not talk to each other! (crazy...
  17. Rusting bodywork

For anyone in the South East, I recommend Auto Technics of Maidenhead. They are Ford approved, have manged several claims related to Mustang galvanic corrosion and will fight your corner once they confirm you have a genuine case that can't be fixed with a repair. Their quality is brilliant and...

  19. Rusting bodywork

I think that's the wrong TSB. I quoted TSB 19-2026. Google it and you can download the PDF. I would tell them "The issue of galvanic corrosion is clearly recognised by Ford in the US under TSB 19-2026 and as our car came from the same production line in Flat Rock, it is reasonable to expect...
  20. Rusting bodywork

I’m not convinced the facelift is any better. It’s happened since the s197 model. But it’s not all cars. Probably something under 25% so just check your purchase carefully around the bonnet and wing front edges. If it’s an earlier car, it probably would have started now if it’s going to...
