I meant more that with a traditional key, if it's in my pocket, I know the engine is off. With this car, the key is always in my pocket, so it's not always apparent if the engine is on or off.

Is this just a GT problem? Don't all EcoBoost, V6, and GT models other than Performance Packs have the same brakes? I've heard some squealing in my EcoBoost at low speeds without the brakes applied which I had suspected was coming from the brakes.

I'm in a cold climate and have a six mile commute each way to work, usually driving 30-40 mph and have very few stops. I've only been getting about 22.5 mph over the course of 1600 miles.
