  1. Dont bother with the all weather mats + ding avoiding parking techniques that work

I used to never do this but I now think this is the better approach. People who park near the cart storage are more likely to walk the few feet and put their cart away, meaning there shouldn't be too many stray carts in that part of the parking lot. If you are parked far away from the cart...
  2. Carbon fiber foglight bezel

I would like to see it color-matched for a more integrated look. Right now, it's the cheapest looking part of the exterior. I think there would need to be carbon fiber elsewhere on the car to pull that look off. Otherwise it's an odd place to have the only piece of CF on the car.
  3. Fuel Economy and Driving Modes

That makes sense that it resets to normal mode given the traction control regulations. But it doesn't makes sense why normal mode doesn't have the throttle response of Sport+ with full traction control. From other threads, it seems like most people use Sport+ almost exclusively, and I'm...
  4. Fuel Economy and Driving Modes

Are manufacturers required to maintain a certain level of traction control on cars now? Or is the risk that the car defaults to sport mode and someone sues Ford thinking that they had the full protection of normal mode by default?
  5. Fuel Economy and Driving Modes

It would be nice if Ford issued an update to default to the last driving mode used upon startup. I can see maybe not defaulting to track mode due to traction control being turned off and potential liability there, but don't see the harm in defaulting to Sport+ mode upon startup. It just...
  6. Fuel Economy and Driving Modes

Does normal driving mode offer better fuel economy than Sport+ or Track Mode, all else being equal? If not, I don't really see the benefit of using normal mode. It just makes the car feel sluggish and underpowered.

  8. Your favorite spray on detailer/wax

for the uninitiated, what exactly do detail sprays do?
  9. What do your seats look like???

After about 3,000 miles, some of the leather panels on my driver seat cushion have become kind of wavy and stretched out. Seems like they should stay taut a lot longer than that. I've seen cars with 100,000+ miles that have firmer looking leather.

Thanks ChrisVR6 for the interior shop!! Not sure I'm feeling that look. Maybe a dark grey/black burl would look better, but this interior is probably more suited to metal or carbon fiber.
  11. 2016 Mustang Changes thread.

I see your point, but I don't view a strip of walnut as being fancier than some of the currently available options like a big touch screen, backup cameras, cooled seats, parking sensors, etc. The Mustang, like a lot of its competitors, has a HUGE price range from the low end to the high end and...

I guess I meant more the look wouldn't be deviating from Mustang tradition since it was used in early models. I would hope that the quality of most other interior materials has improved since 1965 (like using leather rather than vinyl, and better quality plastics).

Doesn't the air bag deploy from under or above the aluminum strip now? I don't see how aluminum is any better than wood from a crash safety perspective, particularly since real wood is used in plenty of cars with good safety ratings.

Well I pine for that to be an option.
  15. 2016 Mustang Changes thread.

I think it's unlikely too, but it would be nice to have some more interior customization options and was just seeing if there was interest from anyone else. I'd love to get the machine-turned performance pack dash without actually having to buy the performance pack (or paying $1,500 or whatever...

Yeah I hate the fake, stick-on aftermarket stuff too. If they SPARINGLY used REAL wood from the factory, I think it could look nice. I had a 1998 Lincoln Continental with real birdseye maple sparingly used on the doors and dashboard, and it looked super nice. The fake stuff (whether factory or...
  17. 2016 Mustang Changes thread.

Pretty sure the earliest Mustangs had wood dashes, so I don't see any conflict there (see the 1965 below) Also, wood dashes have been used in plenty of sports coupes made by Jaguar, Mercedes, and BMW, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. If Ford is trying to make the Mustang a more...
  18. 2016 Mustang Changes thread.

Do you think Ford would ever add a wood dash option that would replace the aluminum bezel that runs horizontally along the dash? If they used some high-quality, real wood like Mercedes or BMW, I can see this looking good in this car. I think the interiors in prior generations of Mustang have...
  19. ALL Photoshop Requests Thread

Request: Could someone try showing what the aluminum dash would look like if it were wood (like a burl walnut)? Not sure if it would look cool or terrible in this car. Thanks! Here's are some sample images to start with.
  20. How do you rate the QC of your pony?

This is my first new car and the quality not as great as I would expect. No issues upon delivery but some have arisen in the 3,000 miles that I have driven it. The leather on the bottom of the driver seat didn't stay taut for more than a few hundred miles. It isn't wrinkled, but looks kind of...
