  1. Someone slashed my tire

This car seems to attract haters. I've already had someone at a store parking lot (apparently intentionally) park their car about 6" away from my driver's side door so there was no way I could get in when they had plenty of room to park elsewhere. Had to get in through the passenger door and...
  2. Gas cost comparison Eco vs GT - It's only 60¢ a day

How about the $7,000 difference in base price between the models? Now add $1.90 per day for 10 years, not to mention the interest cost in financing the additional $7,000. Also, factor in the additional sales tax on $7,000, higher cost of insurance, etc. I realize you were only focusing on gas...
  3. Can We Talk About the V6?

Where did you find a rental with a manual?? I had to learn how to drive manual on my Mustang after I bought it, and when I asked around about rental companies with manuals, I was told they were non-existent. Wish I had known that was an option so I could have known how to drive manual better the...
  4. Anyone Else Having Issues With Gas Pumps Sensing the Tank is Full?

So do the filler necks on these cars just not work properly with the sensors on the fuel pumps? I don't think it's user error, as I've never had this issue before on any other car. I've also filled up at probably 6-7 different gas stations (and different brands of gas stations) and have had...
  5. Anyone Else Having Issues With Gas Pumps Sensing the Tank is Full?

That sounds awkward, but if it works it works. Any other strategies working for anyone? Kind of reminds me of Hammond having to use some special techniques to fill his Mach I Mustang in the recent Patagonia special:
  6. Anyone Else Having Issues With Gas Pumps Sensing the Tank is Full?

Nozzle all the way in makes the problem worse. Nozzle half way in usually works better.
  7. Anyone Else Having Issues With Gas Pumps Sensing the Tank is Full?

No matter which gas station I go to, the pump always clicks off right away, sensing that the tank is full, unless I get the angle of the nozzle JUST right. It will do this after pumping 1/4 gallon into a nearly empty tank. I have never been able to get the auto-fill latch to work either...
  8. What Will the 2015 Mustang be Like in 50 Years?

True. But I cringe when I'm at a classic car show and see a 1960s car with a navigation unit built into the dash or something totally out of place like that. If someone in the year 2065 wants to restore a 2015 Mustang to stock, I'm just questioning whether that's even going to be possible...
  9. What Will the 2015 Mustang be Like in 50 Years?

I think that means that classics in the future will be prohibitively expensive due to these issues, like the expense of redoing the electronics and the cost of finding a 50 year old head unit that works. Think of finding replacement parts for a 1980s computer or VCR...good luck with that, and...
  10. What Will the 2015 Mustang be Like in 50 Years?

Why is that? Wouldn't most mechanics prefer working on a simpler car like that?
  11. What Will the 2015 Mustang be Like in 50 Years?

I had always thought that existing cars would be grandfathered and allowed on the road by law, but the insurance expense is an interesting angle making these cars road legal but impossibly expensive to drive insured.
  12. What Will the 2015 Mustang be Like in 50 Years?

I was looking at some first generation Mustangs and thinking how well they've held up over time. That got me thinking about what the sixth generation Mustang (or most other current cars) will be like in 50 years. The first generation Mustangs and other cars of the area were so simple that most...
  13. Disable Chime on Startup?

Buckling up before turning on the ignition solved the problem. I've never been in a car that made that sound before the car started moving forward. Thanks.
  14. Disable Chime on Startup?

So yours doesn't do it on startup? I've heard it most Mustang videos when the car starts up; it's not just my car.
  15. Anyone else regret not ordering the Premier trim?

I had been led to believe from this forum that the Premier trim with black leather included white contrast stitching while the non-Premium black leather came with black stitching. Since I'm not a big fan of contrast stitching, I didn't get the Premium package. I was disappointed to learn...
  16. Disable Chime on Startup?

I'm referring to the chime at 2:52 in this video: [ame]
  17. Disable Chime on Startup?

Usually not. I will give that a try when I leave work tonight, but it's a different chime than the seatbelt chime when the car is moving and my seatbelt isn't fastened. Does your car not chime when you press the start button and the pony image comes on the display screen as the head unit is...
  18. Disable Chime on Startup?

Anyone know if the chime sound upon startup can be disabled? I find it unnecessary and annoying, especially if I'm talking to someone during startup. I didn't see anything in the manual under "chime" and I'm not sure what else it would be called.
  19. When is Slipping the Clutch Okay?

What exactly is he doing in the video that leads to this? Lol at him popping the trunk when he's trying to look under the hood.
  20. When is Slipping the Clutch Okay?

Yeah, if we're talking about some slightly bad habits reducing the life of the clutch from potentially 200,000 miles to 175,000 miles, I'm not going to worry about it too much. I don't want to create problems for the following owner down the road, but I'm not going to have the car nearly that...
