  1. What kind of demographic are we comprised of?

What year? That must be new with the price into the "insanity" zone. I really like the M in general, no matter which. I can't see an AWD Mustang... then again, it got IRS... :D
  2. Eco vs 5.0 @ 5000'

I'm now thinking who will be 1st to get a new V6 and either make it a 3.5L lookalike to the degree it has turbos and an inter-cooler, etc. and/or who will be 1st to actually swap in a 3.5L TT from an F-150, Taurus, Explorer, whatever... For that matter, someone may choose the 2.7L TT which...
  3. 2015 'Stang vs 2014/15 Nissan 370z

Cross-shop, no. Consider either, probably. The 370Z is cool, but for me, that's about all because it isn't really race material and cars like the Mustang simply smack it around. The only thing that surprises me about them is the price structure has about turned around. "Back in the day," the...
  4. IRS and drag racing

I lived in Dallas(Addison mostly) for quite awhile.... Idonno about his specific area, but the midwest and east in general are likely to have bad spots all over due to harsh winters. Dallas was awesome in comparison... like Florida, really. PS... I miss Dallas! If not for a solid reason to stay...
  5. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

Stretching it WAY out, are ya! I think you'll be safely within the actual numbers with that guess. ;)
  6. IRS and drag racing

Of course Ford isn't stupid. That doesn't mean IRS is better than SLA/SRA for drag racing. Give and take, friend... That's what engineering is all about. How many people who care about how well their Mustang performs are truly likely to leave it 100% stock... About 3%... So it's apples to...
  7. IRS and drag racing

I concede it would be hilarious to see this causing failure and therefore, Ford must have confidence. I also know that with better traction, there is less wheel hop... unless you have leaf spring suspension. Also, it's typical to not have the forward traction with IRS because of all the movement...
  8. IRS and drag racing

Sounds like they intend to power things well. Apparently, the LT4 will be Z/28 power, but I'd personally expect that for the ZL1 instead(unless ZL1 is dropped and Z/28 takes its place) and they said the 2L will be standard, like ATS and CTS it seems. We will now just have to wait and see the...
  9. IRS and drag racing

There's a video on the net of a 2011 Mustang GT with 1 mod... Hoosiers. It grabbed a 1.628 short time. We'll have to wait and see if the new system can withstand that abuse. The quickest AMG E55 has nothing to do with this... You're seriously attempting to have me consider the comparison of a...
  10. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

That's plenty reasonable. I could see numbers way up there, but for me, 435-450hp is reasonable and I believe, like many, expecting more than 410tq just may be a really, really big stretch. The DOHC in N/A form simply isn't conducive to big torque numbers unless it's also a big cube...
  11. IRS and drag racing

If that happens I'll look into the hp and tq numbers, like any drag racer would. Expecting it to, I think basically amounts to pissing into the wind. I have no interest in another pissing contest over how great the IRS is... Wait and see.
  12. IRS and drag racing

Correct! I meant to say 6 more than the GT, to illustrate the difference... then I forgot part! IRS has never been able to beat SLR/SRA at the drag strip, ever. It's not just about how it's held together, but the fact it stays together that makes the difference. More moving parts only...
  13. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

Right... DOHC engines do well with torque, but not like an OHV, let alone a turbocharged or even supercharged engine of the same size and design. Again, right... as did the Ford OHV engines like the 302(215/300 wasn't out of the question) or 351 of any variant. All DOHC engines essentially face...
  14. IRS and drag racing

IRS alone won't, even stripped out... but it has plenty more than that, like larger tires all around and MASSIVELY larger brakes and those, coupled w/ the other 2, will indeed do it even w/o more power. Look at the Camaro 1LE. It beat the BOSS w/ just 6hp more, albeit certainly better power...
  15. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

Hahaha! Okay, 450hp... you said it. If it gets that, great! If it outruns all previous non GT500 Mustangs... Hell is getting really cold! Instead of pointing out the obvious, I'll just ask you to show us where this was said... :headbonk:
  16. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

W/O question, the LS series is finished in the Camaro after 2015 and some form of LT engine will be employed. I'm just not sure if it will be an LT2 or 1(minus) or whatever... I think the only way it will be the same engine as the Corvette has is if the car stays in the 3700+ lb range. There's a...
  17. Why is the 2015 Model the Anniversary?

In a nutshell, that... is the answer.
  18. What kind of demographic are we comprised of?

    1. I drive a 2014 Escape Tiitanium 2. I've owned cars from America, Japan, Korea and Europe. 3. I'll probably wait for the 2016, but unless I get a new F-150(thereby skipping the Mustang), the Mustang will be my 8th personal Mustang since 1986.
  19. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

For all we know, the next Camaro won't even get the LT1. Shooting to surpass the Corvette isn't a feasible goal impo. Even if the Camaro does get the LT1, GM may use a different cam or heads in order to prevent it from being more capable than the Corvette, particularly if it's lightweight(I...
  20. Guess the 2015 5.0 Coyote HP and TQ numbers

I don't see any differences... forged crank is forged crank... sinter forging is really the norm anymore, so rods done that way are expected. The pistons, from all I've read, are a cast design which I still think is hypereutectic and that's not great. Those were the parts in the 5L all along...
