Ever since about ‘11 the track pack and pp1 GTs have been 255/275 iirc. But, the pp2 went 305 square. Because the 1LE was eating pp1s up on track in OEM setup even though they ran 285/305. Gt350s have a mild stagger only at - 10mm up front, same for Mach 1 and DH. Still, I run 305 square on my 350. And, I can rotate properly and utilize 30K treadwear warranty on Conti ECS02s or Pilot PS4S. Win, win.

i'm honest about what these cars are, that's why i rip on their flaws. see, i like ford and i like the IDEA of the mustang. I like what it represents and more often than not what ford actually creates as the embodiment of that idea.

the intrinsic qualities of the idea of the mustang are why I like it. I like porsche for the same essential qualities further up market. the idea behind these things, however, have been eroded by bad decisions usually pushed by idiots in marketing, government agencies, and retarded niche groups that don't actually care about the idea of what these cars are supposed to represent.

now, i'll be the first to admit that all lands squarely in the area of opinion and snooty pedantic sophistry laden dorks take great issue with anything contrary to your own burdensome smooth brained ideas.

with the facelift s550 ford fixed everything i didn't ilke about the first one.
with the s650 they added a bunch of crap I hated and a sedan will almost certainly be no different. that alone is enough to warrant my estimation of its success.

but that's not really my point. my point is very very very simple: if ford made a really good car they could call it something as stupid as "boss 302" or f100 or GT and people would line up to buy it.

someone at ford wants to use the name because htey think it'll sell. they're not selling a car, they're selling a name which is exactly what the decent but doomed mach-E suffered under.

this will almost certainly be no different, not because its a crappy car but because the priorities are being placed on things that don't really matter instead of on building a good car.

I’ve had two CT4 BW both manual and I can tell you that the chassis is tuned quite well and it’s an agile and sure footed car, with no issues on hanging with any other sports car or sedan on twisty back roads. I’ve also had two Shelby 350s and I’d say on a twisty backroad the BW was more agile given the lighter front end. On the highway open road the Shelby once it was spun up would up is the winner but I had the BW up to 145 with no problems. Super stable and planted due to its aero all over the car. The BW could use another 50 hp, which can be done after unlocking the ECU and tuning. It had all kinds of drive modes with various traction settings. I got rid of it cause I wanted another 911, which is a totally different price point. And cops ignored the BW. I got popped at 85 in it, the cop said it was a nice car and let me go.

Absolutely correct. I was referring to the “serious” versions, not the ones with OEM spec A/S tires and lower stability control threshold tuning. I didn’t make that clear when I listed them.

CT4V non-BW is also a good bit of fun, my parents have one. I wouldn’t push it as much as a BW but still a really good performance sedan

Did you really bring receipts comparing an automaker that solely produces EVs (Model S since back in ‘12, early Roadster back in ‘08ish) to one that just got going in ‘21 for all practical purposes? I knew this.

The Mach E sold well, competitive forces have caught up now and Ford has decided to do a tiny refresh and then go UEV platform. Wise move. Mach E served its purpose well. It’s kinda just that simple.

True story: I considered replacing the SS with a 4 BW w/Tremec. But, as good as it is (best driving sports sedan out currently, 5 BW included) I couldn’t because I’m so damn spoiled with my LS3 that I couldn’t do the LF6 TT V6. And it is a great engine too. But, my resonator delete Borla S type puts out sounds at 6600rpm that it just can’t, unfortunately. Sounds silly but there you have it.

I can’t wait to see what GM does with the Alpha 2+2 for the upcoming Ct5, Camaro and Buick. Guarantee it gets the new 5.7 and 6.6 in a 4 door.

the most hilarious part of all this is how since the mustang stopped being good at mustang-ing the battery powered explorer with a mustangstach actually appears to have outsold it last year.

because every mustang being made right now kind of sucks.

maybe that's why ford is considering selling the 4 door hackjob, typical corporate insanity to avoid fixing the real problem.

this should really drive the point home. this isn't about a set of features on a piece of paper, it is about the essential qualities of the idea of the mustang.
