I have found that mods gone bad will often cause the type of feelings you are experiencing. I would return it to stock condition and take your time getting reacquainted with your car before deciding to sell everything including the car. You liked it well enough in stock condition to spend a ton of money on it. You may like it that much again, but next time take a more conservative approach to mods.

It's easy to blame the car for your mistakes. Cosmetic mods rarely seem like a good idea for very long, as most fail to impress anyone.

This is good advice and thank you. I have built my whole car going the oem plus route. So I never ran into any problems. I used Ford performance, RTR, MACH 1, Mustang bullit parts for my build. So everything fit like it was supposed to.

Even all my Steeda parts fit good. I broke my own rule, which was never deal with aftermarket companies. But I fell in love with the cobra r hood and seat delete and the tail lights. And that is when I ran into problems.

I think this is the issue with getting too far ahead with what you want to do. Like making this massive list of things you want to do and getting all the parts and then one by one they dont fit or cause issues.

A slower progression can help. Parts that done hurt you and fit like factory and then one addition after another. I am doing the same at the moment, I made this massive list of things I wanted to get and get fitted and I was almost impatient to do it all. But I changed my mind set after some issues with brakes. So now ill go slow. One by one.

I also want to change my hood. But the golden rule on that is get it fitted first before getting it painted. I hate to say that as its salt in the wounds.

Its a great feeling in a mustag and you love the design. You just need it not be causing you any issuse and just drive it as it is again. The love can return.

Sorry to see you lost your passion for the car. Aftermarket mods will do that.

OEM is the way. I've learned to keep it as close to factory as possible. If there's a mod, it's a part from a another trim level S550.

Think about owning a 1967 Shelby or 1989 Mustang 5.0 that is exactly the way it came off the showroom floor. The most valuable cars are stock.

This is exactly how I thought and built my car. It's filled with Mach 1, RTR, Shelby, Mustang bullit parts, and Ford performance parts. I had zero issues. And then I went with some aftermarket parts and was nothing but problems.

I'd pause, separate and focus on selling the aftermarket bits. But keep the car. Spend the Holidays re-grouping. If in the Spring you still fell it's best to sell the car, do so then. Selling the aftermarket parts in the mean time will help put all that behind you.

If you keep the car and you want an easy, cheap RSD kit, check out covercraft. I agree, the EMP seat delete kits are crap. Coverking makes a nice, simple carpet solution that is only a 120 bucks. Pre-molded and fits easy.

To make a long story short I bought a cervini hood brand new and then had it painted. It did not fit. I'm out around $2600 on that alone.

Then my EMP rear seat delete fit so terrible I can't stand it. Was around $750 list price.

Ordered s550 euro tail lights from American muscle and even bought a 3 year warranty for them and they installed the grommets backwards and made the wiring harness to short. With extended warranty around $600.

I have lost thousands of dollars after hours of hard work on this car and thousands of dollars spent on other parts.

After all the stress caused by this crap and hours on the phone trying to get it resolved not to mention uninstalling the stock parts, then installing the aftermarket parts and now having to spend time reinstalling stock parts I just don't have anymore interest in the car.

This car used to bring me so much joy, every time I had a bad day I drove it or looked at it and I instantly felt better. Now, every time I look at it, it annoys me.

Right now I don't have the time to list all this stuff for sale however if anyone is interested in any of the parts on the car let me know.

That kit would not work for me because I wanted a flat surface in the back for storage and in case my doggy wants more room when traveling.

Damn, man really sorry to hear that. I feel you on the aftermarket parts. I had HUGE problems with some euro tails from AM and when I found out with a lot of research they were complete crap after two different sets were not working properly I had to do two different claims and I eventually sent the two pairs back. I ended up having to pay more for the Diode Dynamics ones that are built just like OEM and they've been great. Surprised you had some issues with those? Anyway, I modded my car quite a lot as well with OEM parts as you can see, and that's definitely the way to go. I hope everything works out for you.

Ive put quite a bit of aftermarket mods into mine and its actually kind of the reason I dont see myself selling it.

I wasted quite a bit of money on parts I regret, but they ended up becoming a lesson... I learned to be careful about carbon fiber exterior parts... especially from certain brands (Looking at you Anderson Composites) They just dont age well...
In doing research, I saw so many problems with Hoods; ultimately I decided to stay stock. That seems to be the most difficult mod to get right and keep looking good.
I wont be messing with the fenders or doors either.
Spent a lot on a CF wing, which looked good, but the legs didnt hold up well... switched to a cheaper gloss back GT500 S-wing and feel much better about it.

Ive learned that the most expensive parts arent always the best, and that when youre deciding what to buy, or install a part yourself, theres no such thing as too much research....
...and when you've made your decision, do more research; try to find a reason not to buy that part... a few cautionary tales from others have saved me a lot of trouble.

Excellent advice. OP I feel for you, but those that are saying take a step back, may be setting you on the right path. Get rid of what upsets you on the car and you may find that you are excited about it again when it's back to the way it was when it actually was exciting to you.
