The buyer is picking her up mid next week. I am very melancholy over it, I sold it for a fair price. I am not going to have a car for a while. I am either considering a new S650 or a BMW M2. I am torn...

I have a 2019 GT and a 2022 M1 as well as a BMW M240i. I know the M2 is a little more power but it’s one of the best engines I’ve ever driven. Go M2.

Really liked the look of your Mustang… The epitome of clean simplicity, in my opinion…

I had the same itch few months ago. Test drove a black M2 stick. It was fast but a very boring car compared to my Mach 1
$3k off sticker too. and I passed
exhaust note is so weak and could never get close with mods.
I have a 22 X5 M-sport and the interior dash is the same so I couldn't pull the trigger.
Don't get me wrong, I love BMW and really wanted to own an M car but this one just didn't sell me . Be Careful and don't make an expensive mistake

That’s a bummer, really liked seeing pics of your car.

Im not a big BMW fan so I’d go S650 between those two. There’s probably a few leftover Mach’s out there that can be had brand new at a similar price point if that’s an option for you?

A buddy sold an S550 GT 2 years ago and bought an M240. Didn't last a year: "Great car, no drama, so composed it is boring. Just doesn't make my heart race". Drive both

Guys an M240i is no M2. What is holding me back on the M2!is the sound.

I get it, the inline 6 versus a twin turbo'd inline 6 is a major difference. Plus the suspension in an M2 is significantly different, peace. For me sound is a big part of the experience and you mention it in your last post as well. Engine and all of the ambient sounds. Some cars isolate you until the sensation of speed and what is happening with the car is so dampened it takes away the juice. It's a big purchase. I'd drive both.

Cadillac V car is my vote. GM alpha platform kicks ass.

I owned two BMWs in my past one was an M3 both were unreliable garbage and high cost for everything. I’ve also owned 3 mustangs all highly reliable and low cost .. Mustangs to me are real muscle/sports cars owned by real men,BMWs are for euro sissy’s …you only know this once you own one! Everyone should own a BMW at least once to know this truth .., I made the mistake twice cause I’m stupid that way lol

Boo, I'm sad now. I understand though. My issue with BMW's is different than most. Most BMW's excel at stuff that's very much not even remotely street legal. At least with muscle cars or slow cars there's character and something to enjoy even in traffic. I love the M2, but in order to really enjoy it you're on the verge of a jail visit most of the time. There are exceptions like the E92 M3 or E60 M5, but they are expensive to own and holding value well for that reason.

Just my 2 cents. V8 go brrr

Just the sound? Not the God awful styling? Unless you're thinking of picking up an original M2 not the current one.

You are not torn Dave. You have been wanting a BMW for years. You have and always will be a Beemer guy. The past 2 years of posts have been trying to justify why you don't have another BMW. It's OK, everyone isn't a Mustang guy. Enjoy.
