I want to try to minimize the vibration inherent in these motors. Has anyone noticed improved vibration dampening with aftermarket mounts? Granatelli, Steeda? Also, I've read here that Steeda makes an adjustable mount to raise or lower the engine. Does anyone have an opinion on Steeda vibration dampening and adjust-ability? Also, has anyone found a good vibration dampening transmission mount? Or, am I the only one that cares about vibration? This is for street use, no heavy performance application.

Thank you for reading.

Do you have a vibration issue or are you just on a crusade to reduce it. I ask because its oretty high up on Fords priority list and they do a lot to engineer it away, but worn out parts may be contributing if you feel like you’ve got too much.

Its a big honkin’ V8 so its a lot of motor to silence, and you can look at some of the tricks they used on the GT350 to quelch that motors vibrations but the unfortunate part is that to reduce vibration you need to measure and carefully target the unwanted harmonics and thats beyond what most aftermarket companies can do. Plus most of the parts in the aftermarket are designed to be stiffer or lighter and will not dampen vibration as well as the OEM parts, which prioritize it.

What nightmare said. The stock mounts are exactly what you're looking for, but you might inspect them to make sure they aren't failing.

Nothing aftermarket will help, and it will likely make it worse. Anything heavy hanging off the engine really needs to stay, including cats. For street use, personally I wouldn't stress too much about a potential engine failure. It's prolonged time above 7k (think a long back stretch), or letting the engine "buzz" over 7500 instead of shifting or braking, and just sort of letting the revs hang.

I ran Steeda adjustable motor mounts for over 5 years and NVH was extremely low (maybe a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1-10). I ran them 1/4” lower than the factory mounts. They served me well, but I needed to change them, in order to support my turbo install.

I just removed them a few days ago and switched to solid billet aluminum mounts. I do expect the NVH to increase with the new mounts, but I’m prepared to accept that.

...So true. I don't know the exact differences but PP1/Mach1 use different engine mounts than the base models. (Harder durometer rubber?) The transmission mounts are also compliant so the whole mounting strategy is engineered as a compromised but balanced system to minimize deflections while providing best possible NVH characteristics. The driveshaft center support is also compliant to the point of being sloppy enough to shake the shaft around by hand on a 10R80 application but significantly stiffer on manual transmission applications. You're not going to get anything better than OEM for street use.

Which engine are you talking about? Your info block in the left column doesn't say you have a GT350, even though you're on the GT350 part of the site.

If you do have a GT350 with an FPC Voodoo engine, to this point, the only post that contains relevant information is the one by @WItoTX where he says the OEM engine mounts are the best to use. If your car has a cross-plane Coyote engine, then the rest of the posts are useful.

Nothing aftermarket will help! This is the bottom line isn't it!

Thank you for this important information and pictures/links of your builds.

I will buy new ford GT350 motor mounts and keep the factory clutch design.

Factory mounts have fluid in them. I’ve confirmed this on my Gen 1 mounts by puncturing one and they look identical to Gen 2 & 3 mounts.

I do agree that it won’t get any smoother than factory mounts, but the adjustability in the Steeda mounts is really nice and I needed that at the time I installed mine. In the 5 years that ai ran them, I only replaced one red puck on the driver’s side mount.

Check the tans mount too, it seems to go limp and floppy pretty easily from what I’ve gathered.
