I would add one more vehicle to that mix. A 2024 Dark Horse. I have seen those in the 55~65k range. A Tremec 6-speed, plus all the goodies one would need with the performance pack. gen 4 5.0 is a great motor, and with a DH, it has even more enhancements.

Something to think about. That said, GT350, Gen2 Voodoo.
I will say I haven't considered the 650 much, mainly because of the screens, dash layout. I would have to give it a drive, to see if it would be enough to sway me in that direction. I'm sure a DH would help with that.

Go for rides as a passenger and a driver in both. As a passenger, because you can't hold onto the steering wheel you really get the sound, power, suspension nuances in a different way. Then drive them yourself.

The decision will come to you organically.

From my experience, the 5.2 makes the GT350 worth it. Ymmv

Each model possess characters the other does not. It would be best to drive each and decide for yourself. What I found was that, other than the sound, they don't feel that much different driving them. They are both excellent in their own right.

Maintenance items and insurance is typically more expensive on the 350. Foreign repairs (Jag, Mercedes, Porsche, etc) are outrageously expensive.

I have had the Gt350, and the GT500. The screens on the GT500 are all digital as well, just in the shape of a cluster. Once you start driving and use them, the tablet look does not bother you at all. At least for me it does not. Also, a lot of other modern sports cars- Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, quite a few others are also using that format.

The cool part of the layout is that you can have 7 different setups, plus your own custom setup. I was surprised that there was a 67~68 cluster layout. Hah, it was like looking at my cluster on my 68. Now that is innovative.

The drive in a DH is what you will want to consider. It reminded me of a refined GT350. The shifting, rev matching, the sounds coming from the vehicle, and the handling. It is truly worth taking note. It swayed me to pick up a DH when I was doing exactly what you are doing.

Whatever your decision, always go with what will make you the happiest. You should enjoy the drive, and that is what counts in the end.

I never thought of it from the passenger seat aspect. I'll give that a go.

Definitely one of the reasons I chose to go Mustang over the F Type (fun car for sure but I'm sure more costly in the long run).

I'm sure the peformance side of the DH would be impressive to say the least. Not to mention, surpass my abilities behind the wheel. I don't think I would have issues with that. I'm sure it would leave a smile on my face as I'm throttling down.

I like the tech and the different options it gives you, I just wished they would have found a way to integrate it better. You're right though, many automakers are doing it. I'm sure in time I would adjust. My wife's car has it for the infotainment portion. It works well.

Honestly, I couldn't go wrong with any of those choices.

Exactly, drive all three and see which one fits you plus preventative maint costs too.

You need to drive a GT350 before deciding. This car is special. Very special. I could describe it all day but until you wind this thing out on a curvy road you won’t get the whole picture.

It is a different animal.
I agree that you need to drive both before buying, but will also comment that driving a GT350 made me choose the Mach. Just be open minded and prepared to like either one depending on what you look for in the driving experience.

I'd drive both and see what you like, personally for me id get a mach 1 ( and regret not getting 1 when i bought my s550) especially if its not a track car, for me I love the way they look, I love they come with a tremec transmission, and everytime you want to upgrade something your not paying extra for that shelby tax. Whatever you get im sure you will love it and im not hating and gt350s at all its just my personal preference
