How much was the car minus the add ons? If you don't mind...
Let's just say I got a great deal on it (lower than anything similar at the time and even now) with only 11K mileage.

I don’t mean to be rude (this is serious. Not trying to be rude). 10k into ecoboost. Why? Just go get GT. I see you have a manual transmission which many don’t event consider. So after dumping 10k into a 4 banger (reality) with a turbo. Why!? I like your car. But common bro!
Not this guy, but I'll also answer as someone with some of the same mods. The GT wasn't worth the premium for me, I'd rather save that for when I do an upgrade to a C8 which will also likely be a base model because I'm not spending the additional money for a Z06, maybe I'd stretch for a Grand Sport to get a wide body though.

With the money saved by not getting a V8 because *sounds*, it's easy to afford the mods we want without overextending and still being a great car. I put about $7k total in non-purchase expenses and love *my* car, a similarly used GT that I would still want to modify to a similar level would have cost another $10k on top minimum when I was searching. It just didn't feel worth that when I did test drives.

Reasons could include better gas mileage, lower insurance rates,
and some people talk like that 1% difference in weight distribution makes a night-and-day difference in handling. Or at least how the car feels.

I considered the EcoBoost until I watched a few too many videos comparing exhaust sounds.
I've heard 4-cylinder engines that sounded good to me, and Ford didn't build any of them. 😅
One of my best friends had a Neon SRT-4 that sounded pretty bad-ass.
Someone in my local sportscar club has a Golf (of all things) that sounds meaner than most of the Corvettes.
I've also spent a lot of time around Hondas and Miatas that sound like angry kazoos. 🔊 😣

...So I did a lot of listening before I decided I had to have the V8. 😁
Can't argue about the sound, I also almost bought the V8 on that basis alone.

But about that weight: Maybe you can't tell the difference in handling on the track when 200lbs of weight is removed off the nose. But I can. A lot.

I don’t know why you EB folks continue to react to these lame questions by GT owners. You shouldn’t have to justify what you like, period. I have a friend who bought a used EB M6 because it’s cheaper than a V8, and loves it for what it is and started to modify.

why did these folks buy a GT/Bullitt/M1 when they could have had a C7 or M3 or ZL1 etc etc etc. Prob in part because it’s cheaper to start, or because they like it more. Not rocket science. If they put in mods to approach those prices are they foolish? I don’t think so. Same goes for EB owners. The EB is a slightly different animal and cool in its own right.

my friend btw ditched M6G and went to a EB focused forum so he wouldn’t have to keep reading these comments and justifications over and over…

Lol, that's where I spend most of my time, but it does get a little quiet over there... Plenty of threads here that have nothing to do with engines, and then we're all basically the same!
