It’s definitely a cool color. Glad I talked my wife into it. She wanted Carbonized Gray but would’ve had to order it because the dealers I prefer to deal with didn’t have any in stock or on the way. Lots of Vapor Blue, Black and White at the time though.
Carbonized Grey was used by Ford Australia between August 2002 and August 2006 on the BA and BF Falcon and Fairlane, although it was called Mercury Silver. This was extremely popular choice because it was the launch colour for the heavily remodelled BA Falcon in 2002. My parents had a Futura sedan in it as well.

The anticipation of a new Falcon was like a new Mustang for us.

My question is, does Rapid Red have a gold flake like Emperor?

The Mustang has been on errand duty for several weeks. So today I wanted to give it a wash and swap out the XR6.

For the wheels and tyres, I went with Brake Buster, HydrO2 and Atom Mac. I then washed with Carpro Reset and a Microfiber Madness DeliPad. Drying Aid was Amplify, including the door jambs, engine bay, wheels and exhaust tips. Glass was via Tru Vue, then OG Tire Dressing for the rubber.

For the interior, I wiped down with a little Griot's Interior Cleaner. I also wanted to reapply ColourLock Leather Shield to the driver's seat, steering wheel, centre console lid, hand brake, gear selector, and driver's door panel. I didn't scrub with a leather cleaner beforehand, just a quick wipe with Griots was enough.

Clean once more, ready for a rest under its cover.

I ordered this brush, not realizing it ships from China. Good thing I used a virtual visa card. I will see if it ever arrives.

I've been wanting to try one of these, I here they are pretty good. They combine the EZ-Detail-style brush with a microfiber style -

As usual, it seems I am a day late and a dollar short, James as this is the first I've ever heard of "virtual" credit cards. Time to investigate.
Their value is preventing others from using the card for purchasing.

At a minimum, they let you manually or automatically inactivate them. Some can be linked to a specific seller's account, so even if the seller's customer info is hacked, the hacker could only use the card with that seller even if it was still active.

A big advantage is if compromised, you don't have to cancel the real card its linked to and wait for a replacement and have to update any autopayments it had been used for (before they next hit).

I like Capital Ones' cards. 1.5% cash back. Virtual cards plus a browser app that watches for checkouts and pops up to ask if you want to use an existing or new virtual card (for just that seller) and if you do, generate and display the number, expiration date, security code. It can even plug those into the checkout cart in many cases.

Other than those and no physical card, they are the same as a regular card. You can't disable one to prevent it being used for an order you placed even if the seller hasn't completed the sale.

My Apple Card has this ability and it’s nice to have. Along those lines, another great new invention is email hiding. When a website asks for my email my iPhone will ask if I want to keep it hidden. It then generates a fake email that then forwards any message to my real account until I tell it to stop. This keeps my actual email address from being sold to third parties.

Yes to both :) I use them all the time. And if my "real" Apple card number gets compromised, 1 click in the wallet app, and the number changes immediately. A card with no "card" at times is really nice.

The good thing is, it is minimium effort for the user to set up.

Well....................my delivery from Chiiiiiiiiina arrived today.

No doubt I'm not the only one who was being spammed with ads for this brush across multiple social media platforms. After I noticed a few positive comments from people I trusted, I thought I'd give it a go. For $30 and a few bucks for shipping, it was worth a shot, my hope was to replace the EZ-Detail brushes in my arsenal.

This is what turned up in an unlabeled box made from the thinnest carboard I've ever encountered.

Tell me, does that brush look like the one promised in the marketing content? The handle is wrong, and the brush material is not even close to the same. Instead, this is just a microfiber brush. Actually, it's so thick and bushy that it doesn't fit between the wheel barrel and brake rotor, you know, like the marketing suggested it would.

I don't know who I'm more annoyed at, them for taking my money and sending some random brush they found in a warehouse somewhere, or me for breaking my own rules and buying a social media brand product. I've done that in the past, only to discover that all of the effort goes is the marketing material, not the product itself.

Let's be real here, no mater who "Elyra" claim to be, it's just some faceless marketing company selling cheap sh.t to social media consumers. And I fell for it too. I'd ask for a refund, but who do I contact in China for that? The only way to contact them is via email, and how do I prove they sent me the wrong brush if there is no way to send an image with it. They know exactly what they are doing.

My advice, you know the advice I chose to ignore myself, NEVER EVER buy products marketed on social media and nowhere else. Buy from proven, established brands with actual ethics and customer satisfaction as the priority.

Not happy!

Dang sorry about the Chineseum barrel brush, D and I expect most of us have had a similar experience with one or more of their products. If only the ads online indicated the country of origin.

Still can't wash a car here so I stocked up with a gallon of Absolute. In the process, I also ordered two Yeti buckets, two new bucket dollies, a couple of those striated sponges, and one of the small iK pump sprayers. I've never been a sponge kinda guy but the rinseless video I saw on the TRC channel was promising so we'll see.

Unfortunately, the dollies, (from China no doubt,) are hung up in shipping somewhere and I may have to find another set. Problem is, ninety percent of those I found online have the red plastic-covered wheels and on my aggregate driveway, they come apart in short order. The product I ordered has what appear to be solid roller blade style tires so I hope they get here.

As it is, I haven't done a pressure washer wash in many months but I'm getting good at rinseless. I never would have thought you could safely use this method and have been surprised at how good the results are. <smile>

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we had a pool and BBQ party yesterday that was a smashing success despite overcast skies and a wee bit of precipitaion here and there.
