My good brochacho, until Oscar Goldman ships out my bionic leg/back, I'm kinda stuck. But I'm living vicariously at its finest through you guys. Probably a good thing I can't make it because if the engineer for the original trans line was there it would likely get heated in short order. :)
Fair enough, but I’d pay to witness that conversation.

I like to disassemble things.
At SEMA in 2013, I saw Dev Saberwal at a booth for Ford Racing. He was a heck of a calibrator/engineer that I wanted to talk to forever. He was talking with Justin from VMP so I waited for the opportunity and when the door opened I got right into it.

At the time everyone was waiting for a Whipple/Ford kit for the '13/'14 GT500. I knew they were working on it but they weren't admitting to it. I knew Dev would be cautious about giving things up so I just cut to the chase and told him I knew what the issue was. He smiled and asked me what it was. I told him the converters had to be failing. He smiled and told me I was right. I asked what hp number they were shooting for and it was in the 800's. With melted cats, they dialed it back. And back. And back. The hp target was so much lower now that they just gave up on development for the blower kit. He then admitted that Ford had bypassed a few internal standards for the 662hp GT500 as it wouldn't pass all of them. It was a great back and forth with a really sharp guy.

The guru is good at opening up cracks too. I wanted to go just to see him work.
