The sn95 is Mystic... the Terminator is Mystichrome, 2 different colors.
^^. Correct on both colors; each was only available to the Cobra of those model years.

The 1996 Mystic was a BASF proprietary color and ingredients; it was the same color used on the the $100 bills for the color shift technology for counterfeit theft protection in the number “100”.

If a Mystic was damaged in an accident, a BASF Rep was called out to verify the ownership, VIN, and only then allowed the Body Shop the repaint authority… AND the paint quantity was measured to exact amount needed for the repair. To this day no one can get the exact BASF Mystic paint formula and the Mystic VIN/ownership confirmation is still in place.

Yes, there are Mystic paints that look and color shift like the 96 Cobra Mystic, but they are not the same.

back to the GTD - I thought there was another article a few months back that stated the GTD could be painted any color BUT Mystic…. I was trying to look for it, but I don’t think I had saved the web link unless someone else has it to share.

EDIT 09/17:
Found the article RE: no 96 Mystic paint for GTD; skim to paragraphs 3-4:

Great! Was hoping for more like 860! Haha! And now we need the curb weight please! Or did I miss that?

The gas tank was too small
Correct. At Daytona the GT500 would run out of gas when running hard. The GTD has the same engine and the same 16 gallon fuel tank. I recently had been contacted by Ford and expressed my concerns. They never got back to me.

So no, whats the point if the car can't go more than 16 minuites without suffering fuel exhaustion?

Its a shame

I would’ve been nice if they had made an area for a secondary fuel cell. Even another 2-3 gallons would be helpful.

lol I was being facetious and look at what that got me? A serious and unfortunate answer.

But I get it. That’s a lot of pennies to not even complete one session at your home track.

I see. Yes, the fuel capacity has always been a hinder as hard driving on tracks will need constant fueling. It’s a shame but I thought about that when they first came out with just the same 16 gallon tank. Making it 20 gallon tank will help but that extra fuel weight was a no-no.
