Drone is mitigated by the axle back part of an exhaust system. Anything done in the mid section won't have an effect. The H-pipe alone will not product a classic muscle car tone, there will need to be some kind of "hollowed" resonator in the mid section to produce this effect

I’ve been reading the threads about X, H, and Hybrid pipes for resonator replacement. For me I decided that an H-pipe will deliver the sound I want. I want to know if installing the H-pipe will increase the noise in the passenger compartment? Or does the change occur at the mufflers? Mine is the Mach 1 with the adaptive exhaust. I’ll give an example. I had a 1991 GT and put Flowmasters on it and the drone in the passenger compartment was horrendous. I want to avoid that if I buy an H-pipe. TIA
I had the same problem when I had Flowmastes on my 2015 convertible and the drone was bad, I changed and went to MBRP Streets, what a difference. IMO FLOWMASTERS are just loud.

I have a Steeda X on my Mach 1 w/active exhaust. I do have noticeable drone at low RPM, moderate load when in track or sport in the cabin. There is a small amount in normal mode. Note: this is low RPM high load-not to where you are lugging the engine, but not too far from it. I can downshift and it goes away, but it is most definitely drone/resonance.

I LOVE my x-pipe though. It sounds awesome at RPM and on the road course.

I also have the mach 1 active exhaust with a Roush X pipe. I dont hear any noticeable drone in the car with this set up. I had MBRP race version and the drone was Terrible.

I have a steeda H pipe no drone but it is louder especially on a cold start. Put the active exhaust into quiet mode And it is just as quiet as the OEM resonator.
Same here but with the X-H combo pipe from Steeda & on a Vert'.

The X-H came out after I put the H pipe on I am wondering if there is any difference in the sound. Quite happy with the H so I won’t do the experiment to find out personally but I am curious

It's a little deeper of a tone than just the H-Pipe alone - it's definitely a different tone than just the H-Pipe:

I have an H pipe and in my experience, it kind of depends on the drive mode. Quiet is similar though slightly louder than stock on cold start. Normal is perfect for driving around with the windows up. Lots of sound, zero drone unless maybe you're super lugging it in 6th gear. For me I tend to get some drone in the 2.5k-3k rpm range in Sport with the windows up. Once I crack the windows it's gone. Same goes for Track.

I bought the Steeda X-pipe. At first I thought I’d go with the H-pipe but over time the X won out.

Both are great options - I have no doubt, you'll be stoked with the X-pipe upgrade, enjoy :)

Absolutely love my Steeda X pipe. I don’t get drone in any mode and she screams in the upper RPM range!

I swapped the factory resonator for an H-pipe on my Mach 1 with active exhaust. Now at idle especially in Quiet or Normal I hear a noticeable air hissing sound from exhaust. It’s not a leak type hiss for 100% , just different flow sound. In Track mode it disappears.

With the stock resonator this sound was gone or much quieter. Is this normal with H-pipe setups?

This is killing me. I bought the Steeda X-pipe because I liked the sound and they had a killer deal. BUT I just had Quadruple bypass open heart surgery and my chest is still too messed up to install it. And nobody works on my car but me unless it takes a special tool or skill.Im so impatient!!
