Anyone drive in sport or track mode as daily driver? Is it safe for the car?

With my Camaro SS I always drove in sport model and traction control off unless it was raining. My 2012 GT didn't have the different models.

Normal mode is boring, but I notice track mode to me the throttle seem a lot more responsive to my input. Sport mode is also better than normal mode too.

In sport more are you guys driving with traction control off? My previous 4.6, 2012 GT and my Camaro SS seemed bogged down when using traction control and I never used it unless it was raining.

Would it put any wear on the transmission or engine using sport mode or track mode as a daily driver?

I never use normal mode. MyMode is set to Sport, with the exhaust on quiet, and I switch to that as soon as I start the car in the garage. I use that until I'm a few blocks from home just to keep the neighbors happy, then I switch to Sport mode. Away from home, I flip it to Sport whenever I start the car. I leave traction control on, but I much prefer the throttle response and magneride in Sport. I can't imagine how that would negatively affect anything.

I driven my 2012 GT, my 2016 Camaro SS both with traction control always off unless it's raining. IT feels like the car is really bogged down with traction control on.

In my 2020 GT normal mode seems kinda clunky and laggy compared to sport and track mode.

Driving in Sport mode will not harm the car…

Driving in Track Mode is not recommended due to shift points and excessive strain on the engine due to the tune dynamics.

That's what I figured. I put it in track mode tonight on a short, not much traveled rode behind my condo and let her rip! She sure scoots quick and smooth in track mode! Scary fast.

I will say compared to my 2016 Camaro SS, desipite the 2:77 gear ration, that thing still scooted fast off the line due to the bigger engine that produces all that torque! I can only imagine what 3:73 or 4:10s in an ss would be like. My GT once it gets moving it does in a hurry.

My dad years ago bought a 1969 GTO when he got out of Nam. used his combat pay saved up. He had to sell it though because my mom kept getting tickets because she didn't know how to drive the thing. She'd get on it at stop lights and go spinning out . He said it was very touchy get on them too much and you're all over the place. Those late 60s muscle cars were pure power and none of the traction control. I wonder what a 454 or 428 Cobra Jet was like trying to launch with that thing or just smashing it too hard! No Traction control or advanced track BS to save you.

I routinely drive in Sport mode. To me, it feels like a torque tune.

Track mode is very linear with great throttle response, but it turns off the "nannies". Dry roads and light traffic-only for me.

I always use MyMode in my DD and set to Sport+,Track Mode active exhaust & Sport steering

I always use sport plus but typically wait until the engine is warm. Largely bc I don’t need to piss off neighbors and better shift points won’t make a difference at 15mph. Normal is essentially an eco mode, designed for fastest way to get to gear 10 and improve fuel economy.

20 GT premium pp1, manual. Always drive in sport mode, usee track mode often. Never use normal. No issues.

Mine is/was my DD with a 70 mile daily round trip from 2019 until 2023 when I retired. It was always in Sport mode unless my wife was in the car. She doesn't like the harsher shifting due to some lower back pain so I drive in normal mode with her. The car is still my DD but not driven nearly as much. I still drive in Sport or Track when alone. At upwards of 115k miles on the car and (knock wood) I've experienced zero issues with driving in those modes.

I dive in sport mode intown longer distances in D. for slightly better gas mileage

When my Bullitt was stock I drove in Track and the car was easily manageable then the mods began...first a tune followed by a load of chassis work, then I decided 500 hp just wasn't enough so enter F/I and 700+ hp which made driving in Track somewhat of a challenge to my limited driving skills so now I have resorted to Sport...traction control is your friend and so are bigger tires...
