A friend has his delivered yesterday. Absolutely beautiful car. And Ford goes all out on delivery, sending a racing driver to walk through the car, answer questions not only from the owner, but all the people like me asking technical questions I knew he wasn't allowed to answer LOL

The green is stunning in person.

Yes. It will be driven in anger once broken in and PPF put on. So I will be at the track for the first outing, and probably plenty more, as we are members at the same track.
Think he will let you drive it? lol. That would be cool to have someone on the forum actually speak to what it's like rather than numb nuts talking about numbers.

Amazing. Is that the performance pack? I think that’s what the DRS and front canards equipped cars are.

Believe it or not, he's pretty generous with who he let's drive. Very nice to have people in the community who share something so special.

Yes, it's a PP car. Which I assumed if I bought a GTD, it was just a GTD. No special packages, it was already at the limit LOL

There are several forum members that have allocations. Hopefully they all chime in when they get their cars and share some of their experiences.

I’ve seen a couple up close, one of the press cars and an actual customer car. They’re really cool to see in person. Would love to get a ride in one some day. I would honestly be a bit nervous if someone actually let me drive theirs.

A friend in south Fl let me drive his around a LARGE parking lot. My initial feeling was it drove like the 500. I squeezed the skinny pedal hard once and could feel the potential of the car. He said he tracked it in South Florida and it was MORE than the 500 and I could understand that....

From my buddy who has already been offered to drive it: "It will be the slowest lap that car ever see's" LOL

What is crazy, when you look from behind the steering wheel, it basically looks like a normal Mustang, then you pop your head out and realize each fender is 5" wider than expected. Or the fact that the cars hips are wider than the mirrors.

It has an incredible presence, more than I expected. And yeah, that car is massively wide. The pictures don’t really capture how wide that car really is

He parked his M1 next to it and sent the photo. Photo didn't do the GTD size justice, so I didn't post it. But 100% correct.

Other things I found interesting on the car. The hydraulics that control ride height collapse the "helper" spring when in track mode. Shut the car off, car rises. First question he couldn't answer was whether or not that system runs off the belt, or an electric motor. The concern I had, was what if that hydraulic fails on track, holy but pucker. 50mm ride height change is no joke.

I didn't remember that the dry sump tank sits right where the bell housing normally would. Interesting it wraps around that torque tube. Also interesting, I didn't notice a significant drop in the engine height with the dry sump. I also couldn't get a straight answer on the dry sump, other than it wasn't Dailey. 15 qts of oil. Only one decent track tire offered. The underbody aero deflectors are almost a rubber, and consumable.

Another impressive thing I found. The when the doors are shut, it's the most solid sound I've ever heard on a Ford. My F250 doesn't sound that solid, and definitely not my S550.

Finally, just my take, there isn't a ton of open space under the hood, and the air flow "seems" like it wouldn't be near as high as the S550 bay. Also cool, the gurney that is on this current car was developed at the 'ring, they built new ones on the spot to see if a bigger gurney would help with airflow. And the front brake cooling ducts also flow over the front radiators. And just looking down the brake duct, I didn't see any obvious cooling deflector on the A-arm to channel air to the rotors. But we never pulled a wheel to look either.

I missed out getting to see the delivery when I moved back to Central Florida, I hear it was a great day when it was delivered.
