They didn't cancel the car. Just stopped it from being a mustang. The Probe itself was a fun car.
They canceled the Mustang branding. Yes, The Probe did well

The Probe GT with manual and six speed was a good car actually
I liked the Probe, but it would have made a terrible Mustang. Mustang would be canceled by now if Ford would have gone through with their original plans. Ford is not omniscient. People make mistakes. It's ok. But you hope they figure things out and recover.

If Ford had made the S650 a better performer than the S550, a significant improvement of any kind, the S650 would be doing fine, even at high prices. Lighter weight by 100-200 lbs. 75+ more HP and the same weight. Or making it a transaxle car with even the slight weight gain the S650 has and no power change. Any of those would have made a really big difference in S650 sales, I think.

I want to buy a new Ford. I love variety. It just doesn't make sense to pay a bunch for something so similar to what I already have. Looking at slightly used Challengers right now. To replace the Camaro, not the Mustang. I spent too much time modding the Mustang to dump it now.

If the DH SC was transaxel it might garner more interest. For me, I can’t stand the iPad dash in any model Mustang.

I would argue the design of the car is also holding it back frount, angular rear and a lack of Mustang features

I'm sure a lot of people share your opinion. I don't care as much about styling as I do about performance and value.

I think it looks like a Mustang. The roofline and the interior really haven't changed much. The nose is a little more aggressive and almost like a truck styling. The tail is reminiscent of a '67, but a little overdone. I'm fine with it. If I thought it was a good value I'd buy one.

I didn't bring up electronic snooping in my last post. It's actually a huge negative for me as well.

Wow darknhorse sc msrp.... Ive come to the conclusion that I'm not a new mustang buyer. I'm not a new GT buyer and Def not a dark horse sc buyer. Im fairly certain I'm not a new car buyer in general. In all honesty with prices of used cars and parts, I may not even be an enthusiast anymore. I think my 10 year old gt and 6 year old f150 is it for me. Probably hang it up and go back to motorcycles.
I can't ever justify buying new. I'm diehard blue oval. But if I was looking for something in that price range it would not be a DHSC.

My 2016 F150 XLT Sport, I bought in 2021 for $26,500, $51,240 window sticker, the 2022 GT was originally titled in '23 making it just 2 years old I paid $36,500, $52,070 window sticker. Seeing how fast cars depreciate I can't see paying $175K for that when we all know you can buy the parts and build a DHSC killer.

LOL ok. Ford sold approximately 2.2 million vehicles in 2025 (open source). I'm sure the few people in here complaining about the price of the DHSC will make a YUGE impact on that by refusing to purchase another vehicle again. But hey, if it makes you feel better...

An apologist huh? My opinion offends you so much that you have to make such a baseless claim? Maybe work on your emotional state....
Are you good dude? I'm not sure why you're so emotional about what others have to say about this vehicle. You got one preordered?

You've commented a bunch of times under lots of posts about this. You've attempted to blast anyone who thinks this car is overpriced by calling them names. It's pretty childish tbh again, very weird. Based on your comments, it's pretty clear that you think everyone's opinion is invalid except your own.

Feeling triggered much? Don’t like what I have to say, press that ignore button and all your worries will disappear 🤣

The car Ford needs to make, is the Toyota GR GT but with a soul. A supercharger, and a better exhaust so it does not ruin the sound. Its an aluminum body, transaxle, SLA front, and is a low slung, GT street car derived from the their GT3 racer with lots of power and torque and weighs in at 3800 even with an entire hybrid system which will probably give it some extreme torque-fill. Suspect pricing is 200-300k. I'm hoping they will make a more "mental version" of it.

If that had been what the DHSC was, I would have been trying to figure out how to get one ASAP. I'm still holding out hope the "next gen" will be a platform that supports that type of vehicle. It should be physically smaller too...

A buddy (fellow Mustang nerd) and I were discussing this thing over a beer or two.

Relative to the S550 GT500, the general consensus was that the DHCS is like most movie sequels. Oddly familiar and formulaic plot, not as good to look at, plus the admission price is higher. All things considered, inferior to the original.

A solid "meh" from my corner.

I knew it would be a lot but i didn't expect 170k at the top end. That is a really large sum of cash.

Puts it up there with some seriously high performing vehicles. Remains to be seen how this does. Its just seeming like its trying to punch with a class of cars who's consumer base is not interested in mustangs. I just can't shake the feeling that someone looking to spend 170k isn't looking for a mustang.

Ford has done a lot with the mustang since the s550. They really saved it from a harley davidson type of fate. I just don't know if they've really done enough to say the DHSC comparable to say an AMG GT... I guess we will find out when reviews start to happen on this thing.
