I figured they were made for their own system. That really sucks.
If the stock system was a little more straight, we could put any tips on. As it is I'm already over $300 and I don't have a solution. Any more money and I should have just bought an axle back magnaflow

I know what you mean. Only reason I haven't done an axle back is they don't seem to retain much of a tone difference from track and normal. And quiet isn't quiet anymore lol

Truth be told, I really like the factory sound. The differences between the modes are perfect... JUST NEED TIPS!

I'm in the same exact boat. Once I added headers, I ruined the sound and then put a race muffler on each bank. It's a perfect balance.

Ok, had n idea. Currently doing headers and a bunch of stuff. But tip wise. I bought off eBay some 12” long x 4” round slash cut rolled edge tips. Chopped em to 6” long from the top for the inside tips and 6.5” for the putter tips. For attaching them. I am gonna tig inside where the tip goes into the rolled edge and then either the top, side or bottom atleast an inch long. I don’t believe in bolting tips on. I will probably scuff them in advance as I plan to paint them black and the stainless will discolor where the tip is on the end. Thoughts?

this is a fantastic idea. instead of the 2 fake tips we were originally trying to do!
any idea if a double walled would work the same wy? Since double walled is 4 inches OD, but not ID? Also, how did you cut the pipes?
thanks!

oh don’t worry. I have them other damn tips too. But they wouldn’t go on far enough for my liking. As for double wall I dunno. Maybe. I used and abrasive chop saw and then de-burred them with pliers and a dremel tool. Grabbed some satin Blk paint for em today. Should have em almost done tomorrow. Minus paint. Finished longtube install today after they arrived. So was busy with that. I’ll post pics before paint. Already scuffed the tips for the paint to stick to em.

Btw, why didn't you buy black tips to begin with?

I didn’t do black tips because I wanted to tig them on. So it woulda burned the paint on the top ends do you the weld. Sitting here debating on black or just scuffed stainless as they are.

Scuffed looks nice!

Is there a way to have them welded just in the back? I don't know how to weld so I would have a shop do it for me but I would like to buy black tips so if they just weld it in the back and might be okay

Possibly. But the tips are larger diameter then factory tips. So you can’t weld all the way around. I just tacked the ends so they don’t shake or move at all
