Hi all!
So I got a good deal on non-oxygenated E-85 ( bought four 5 gallon pails for $150 ). I believe FORD says E-15 max for 2017 5.0's correct?
But I read in this forum (and others) that with stock injectors you can go E-30. Now I'm not smart enough to argue what auto engineers say,
but has anybody do any definitive testing on up to E-30 - E-50 with stock injectors? Thanks!

Stock injectors, with a Flex or e85 tune, can handle pure e85. I think the dividing line is if you run an aftermarket intake manifold, you need to step it up to lu47s at least.

You will probably be fine @ e30 or less. Really won’t gain much unless your tuned for it. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Can somebody give me a chemistry lesson? I thought all e85 was oxygenated. Isnt ethanol an oxygenate???

Without a tune? Wont adding 20% more ethanol on a stock gas tune cause you to run slightly lean? Driving around you'd probably be fine but at WOT I'd wonder what your lambse and STFT would be.

At most a degree or 2 or timing and more knock resistant. That quite honestly was a little silly to pay 150 bones for when pump prices are $1.94 per gallon E85 down here.

You can run up to E35 without any changes. Targeted lambda will still be the same. Thanks to closed loop fueling we have had since 2011. E30-35 blends will have the knock resistance of around 96-97 octane, when blended with 93.

E85 reached $1.60 at the pump here. $20 to fill up the Mustang!

I'd advise against doing this. You won't gain anything and might hurt something. Get a tune man.

If your car is pretty stock, no problem running E with the injectors as long as you get a tune.

Silly? Really? Hmmmm... no E85 available up here. And a 50gal drum costs $770 + tax. Thought I got a good deal?
Others: basically bought it for a little octane boost. Was gonna mix 30% with 94 octane non ethanol (I'm tuned for 93).

Run an octane booster like VP Octanium would be your best bet. I had Lund build me a 100 octane tune file on my 14 GT cobra jet induction.

VP Octanium
"Octanium increases gasoline octane up to 8 numbers (80 points)"
What does this mean? From 93 octane to 111 octane? Or 93 octane to 93.8 octane? There is no clear answer on their website.

this is what I got:

8 full numbers. 93 to 101. 91 to 99. Etc.
Good shit...

But, you need to run logs and have your tuner bump up the timing. I was running 93 plus Octanium @ 31 degrees timing.
