But is it really necessary to spend an extra $66 + shipping to acquire these pieces with only 23k miles?
23k miles of wear and tear so they’re not exactly new. Ask yourself, how many times you’ve turned left & right in those 23k miles and add the thought of road force impact ramming the strut assembly up into that plastic bearing race.......
Your car, your choice, I respect that.

Pretty sure my engine bay heatsoak-induced creaking is coming from either this bearing or my drivers side plate bearing. Hopefully it's the spring isolator/strut bearing. The heat thing makes me think it's the spherical in the plate though, and I know why it failed if it did.

It’s there, the green plastic has ball bearings arranged underneath in a circle towards the outer diameter which contact the metal plate that the rubber spring isolator / retainer is bonded to.
The green plastic race is what allows the strut and spring assembly to rotate against the strut chassis mount while turning.
That is some high-speed engineering by Ford. Yep, I’ll be getting these new and will update my previous posts with part numbers. I appreciate the info.

That is the piece that went bad on my driver side around 15k I think, noticeable creaking sound when turning. I'd say it's worth it to swap it while things are already apart because otherwise you'll have to do the same job + alignment again vs just the extra bit of money up front.

Not trying to sideswipe anyone but this is the reason the Ford Performance Track strut / shock kit is such an exceptional value when factoring in all the nickel & dime components.
Plus, add the fact the kit flat out works it’s ass off on the street. Honestly you’ll never look back.

Taking the thoughts right out of my mind. I’m going to write-up a cost analysis between the Bilsteins and the FRPP kit. As is sits, I’m 99% sure the FRPP kit takes the gold.

We’ll just need someone to weigh overall value by assessing driving dynamics of the two, and then factoring in the cost delta.

Jeez, those things are pricey. They're included in the ~$500 FRPP track kit, too.

Not sure the frpp bump stops will fit in the Bilsteins.

Here is the revealed strut.

For strut mounts.. Yeah they are. I got them when they had a little sell for $120.. But there's really nothing else to get besides camber plates which start at $250+

The strut mounts sell for $33 ea. through parts stores. The FP kit is a massive ripoff.

The mount and seat or both $30 each from tasca.. So I don't see the massive rip off.

If you just needed the mount. I understand, but I didn't want to have to take my stock struts apart. Plus everything would be new.
