Just see how most posters feel in a few years after Ford releases the next gen Mustang. How many will want the newest ride and feel their current ride is looking outdated and aged.

One day I will get the '07 s197 I want. This fits me nicely and it's my classic car choice.

There are some older '70's Mustang I'd never have but it's not my choice of ride.

I like all models and years, would I own them, no.

'07 a classic?

Man I really feel like a red-headed stepchild  When generations are mentioned in this thread, everyone skips the 2010. They say the fox bodies, the SN97s, the 05-09s, the 11-12s and 13-14s. We 2010 owners have feelings too :brokenheart::lol:

A couple of years ago I couldn't afford a S550 GT/PP premium. My budget was a base S550 V6 or used S197 5.0. As nice as the S550 look, if it's not a V8, I don't enjoy it. I went with the 2010 because it had the color I wanted, the track pack and above all, the exhaust sound of the 4.6 that I have always wanted. At the moment I can jump into the S550 GT, and at times I want the 2017 and at times the 2018. I have driven many times the S550 both in 4 and 8 cylinder configurations, but I think my indecision is because I still love my 2010 so much. It has only 65,500 miles and looks amazing. Once I see the 2018 in person I will make my decision. If I keep my 2010, I want to upgrade to the Ford Performance suspension and replaced the aging leather seats, but the cost of both items with labor is around $4,000, so not pocket money to sink into a 7 year old car. I'm also playing with the idea that instead of trading mine in, I'll keep it alongside the S550. This is my first Mustang and just like the first girlfriend is hard to let go Hahaha

I don't have any pics with a nice background, but this pic from Car and Driver is a mirror image of my Baby.

Honestly...the 11's and 12's were the first modern Mustang that I just completely knew I had to have...and the feeling hasn't worn off yet. When I got my Challenger in the fall of 2009 I loved it, then in June of 2010 when I first drove a 5.0...I knew the romance with my Challenger was over.

Still would would like to get a 11/12 one of these days..perhaps even over a S550.

I think my SN95 looked a hell of a lot better than the 05-09 S197s that came immediately after it. The 05-09s are just so damn uninspired, inside and out. I also didn't grow up in the 60s/70s so the retro attempt does nothing for me, although I would argue that Ford didn't do 'retro' very well, because it really looks nothing like the original Mustangs.

My Black 2011 Brembo was a great car but that transmission was WAY worse than the new ones and that's saying something. Bought a base package thinking it'd be "easy" to swap a different head unit but no-one made a good looking solution for the 4 years I owned it. I re-covered the seats with factory pleather and did the usual mods. Exhaust, CAI, tune but I just never really bonded with the car. Bought it mainly for the return of the 5.0 but it just felt SO cheap inside! Both my 2016 and '17 have been light years better in almost every department. I don't know if it's because I got so caught up in all the spy pics and guessing about renders etc...but I liked everything about the '16 from the word go. Feels like a much more complete car.

I'm the luckiest guy on the planet. My June/2010 MT-82 has been basically flawless. The shifter feels better in the '15+ cars but it's the same damn transmission.

Clutch pedal feels artificial and weird in the S550s to me...I'm sure I'd get used to it but as it stands, it's a trade off

We all have our favorites, you're entitled to yours.

Mine is the '07.

My 06 GT is now my dedictated bracket car. It runs low 12s within hundreths every pass. I have done nearly every mod on the car...I love it. My 16 GT has a few mods and I love it too. The difference between the two is massive but I wouldnt want pick one over the other. 06 is just raw muscle car badness. 16 is more refined, sportscar like but...im sure once you add a SC the beast comes out. That time will come when im ready.

OP, I really LOVED my '14 S197! It had the Brembos, and premier interior. It was truly loaded, and EXACTLY what I wanted at the time!

That being said, the interior of the S550 trumped it, plus all of the 'creature comforts' sold me. They were and are TONS of fun to drive, and if I could have figured a way to keep both, I would.

Bottom line, I'm keepin the S550!

The lines of the 15-17 are great but I miss the turn radius of the S-197 badly.

We need to see the X-ray images of this!!

I bet a lot of us have muscle cars in our heads.

There's a 1970 AAR 'Cuda in mine!

I agree for the most part. I loved the S197 when I first saw it and when I got my 2007, but I quickly got tired of the styling.

I am in the same club. I loved my 2010 GT! I also had a 2007 GT, which I also appreciated. I would kept them both, had it worked out financially.

Having said that, if I had to choose one, I'd be sticking with my S550 for now.
