I miss my old 2007 Grabber Orange s197.
The color and body style in my mind was perfect.
Of course I won't get rid of my '15 GT, but just saying I miss the simplicity and clean body lines of the s197.
If given the chance I'd switch back.

On the other hand, the power of the '15 GT is nice.

I kept my S197. It's now being turned into my track car. I love the S550 but truth be told if I hadn't had the S197 I'd probably be in an E92 M3 right now.

My advice hang on a little bit and get another S197. Prices are pretty low on the 4.6 cars right now as well.

The 2005-2009 S197 felt a lot more "boaty" to drive and the interior was like a cheap toy car. The S550 interior and technology is miles ahead.

i liked the retro look, but the S550 just looks a lot meaner of a car overall.

There are days I feel maybe I should have stayed home ( can't turn back time, lol ) and just washed my s197 rather than going to the Ford dealer, Yea the interior is above the s197 and power is amazing.

I saw my old s197 a few months ago, thing had a terrible drivers door ding.
Never had any door dings through 9 years of ownership.

I can't even look at 05-09's anymore. They seem so boxy. I still love the 11-12's, can't stand the 13-14's.

The S550 has really grown on me, I hated it a year ago, and now I'm in love.

I'll admit I didn't like the pics of the s550 when it came out but the first in person impression was wow. I've had this since August 2011. Still like it. No issues but I'm getting the bad itch to switch up. 65k miles on this old hag

I miss my s197, mostly that I beat on it so hard, for years. And EVERY damn day it made me smile.

Merge the two? s550 engine, interior, and suspension swapped onto an s197 shell. hehe

I love the s550 now though, it would be hard to go back after i've had the refinement of the new chassis.

The s197s definitely had a more muscular look. But the s550 is sexy and turns more heads

Although id take the front end of any s197 over the s550 but everything else is s550.

Never owned a Mustang before the current generation. (used to be an American car hater :D). I've driven a New Edge and a S197 Version 2 with the 5.0, so very limited experience with these cars. I personally think that the S197 Version 1 is just...not eye grabbing at all. Design wise they are not exciting and does never persuade me for a second look. Now I love the exterior of the Version 2, just wish the ass was bit lower (I hate that almost every car now has a tall rear). I disliked the interior, but loved the 5.0 power, and when I saw the S550 press release pictures, I said that that would be my next car. And soon after it was and I think this is where Ford nailed both the interior and exterior design. Great car! <3

The last mustang I owned was a fox body so I skipped a few generations. I almost bought a black 2014 base track pack 5.0 in the fall of 2014. Kinda wish I did at times because of the solid axle rear. It must have been one hell of a tire smoker at the stab of the throttle. Like the ol fox 5.0 probably. This 2015 irs set up with all the added traction controls is a joke..
