The simplicity and retro styling of the '05-'09 was what brought me back to Ford in 2007.

I had some good times with my 06 GT, still have the custom engine cover hanging on my garage, but wouldn't go back. I did look at the 13-14 GTs before I got this car but didn't even look at anything before 2013.

I have been seriously considering picking up an 05-09 gt soon. My plan was to save up and sell off a few things and move up to a 15 gt from my 15 ecoboost. I really like the 15 style interior and handling. Actually the ecoboost power is OK for daily driving and really is pretty good. But my first car was a fox body GT and have never gone back. Had Japanese sportscars ever since other then an Audi TTS. So unfortunately I am continue to see I need to give my eco and about 10000 more the get into the same gt. And that is selling outright. Trade in will be worse. Then I started to think of the idea of getting a 8000-10000 05-10 GT in that range. For one, I really am not that impressed with the new GT sound. For daily driving I like the new Automatics. Maybe I would get a stick finally again in one of these older ones. Not sure which way I plan to go just yet.

With all due respect, the 60s Mustangs and the S550 Mustang are the only ones I like out of all generations. The rest of em don't do a thing for me.

05-09 Mustang was possibly one of the worst looking Mustangs in recent years, IMO.

All Mustangs from 1964 1/2 - 2014 looked like AMERICAN Mustangs, then in 2015 ( S 550 ), they went the way of the Euro Box look like everything else,Eco Boost 4 banger. And there are NO words for what Ford did to 2018,Thank you, I will keep my 11 S197 GT, == Mustang, American Heritage,USA.No Euro box for me.:amen:

I was not a big fan of any Mustang between 1974 and 2004, but have really liked all of them before and after. My experience was the same as yours, the 2005 drew me in and now I'm hooked (had a 2005, then got a 2015, and a 71 Mach 1). My son now has my 2005 convertible.

Go drive an '01 Bullitt, '03 Mach1 or a Terminator and get back to us.

I mean, the Bullitt was basically a GT with Cobra brakes, some braces and otherwise insignificant 'bolt ons.' Still basically a gutless 2V. The gauge cluster is also impossible to read. The Mach 1 is the best of the N/A SN95s, no doubt.
