Very cool!It is metal! Wether or not it is full aluminum I do not know but from what I can tell it seems to be at least some type of aluminum alloy.
Every dash panel (aside from the v6 carbon fiber) is true aluminum. So it is possible to achieve this finish on base model parts. Is the GT350 panel the only one that is actually aluminum? I wish I could achieve this finish in my base EcoBoost but I'm pretty sure that panel is all plastic.

Awesome!!I'm about halfway through sanding off that top layer and my God is this beautiful. The pictures look good but wow does this thing look good in person. I can't believe they decided to cover it up with that ugly coating that made it look plastic!
When you are done I suggest you use this sealant on the aluminum! The APIM is the sync module connector. It will be located directly behind the 8" screen on premiums and have a metal casing. On base models it will be located directly behind the 4.2" screen and have a black plastic casing. The connector is the main 54 pin connector.I'm unfamiliar with the APIM (sync) connector. Could you post please a picture of where it is located, or is it located behind the radio?
