I'm not surprised. I recently went to a local dealer I've bought from in the past to look at their GT350 (sold). While speaking with the GM, who's a good honest guy, he mentioned trying to buy a few allocations from other dealers. He even hinted at buying mine when I get it.

You don’t want to know
How high do you think the stock will be when 3,000 dealers are fighting over 4,000 cars?

There still has to be an actual end customer on the other side of the rainbow that will buy them for nearly $90k or whatever. Betting that's a good bit less than thousands of people. But we'll see.

Looking forward to when the GT350 hype dies down and these become more obtainable at close to MSRP.

I plan to move up to a GT350, but not with current mark ups. I love the GT350, but not for $10K+ ADM.

Interesting story. I live in Oak Lawn, IL and stopped to see the OW with blue OTT stripes. The sales rep told me they already had sold it for $15k over. Your story checks out.

Yep. Ken Grody Ford. I've been in touch with a rep there as well. He gave me the same info - they are buying up as many allocation as they can. And, he mentioned the one from Oak Lawn as well. Sad - I had actually talked to the place in Oak Lawn months ago, and they wanted $15K over...I couldn't believe someone would try to charge that much for a 2016 non-R...I was wrong...a dealer will.

Yup all true. Some dealers did the same with the 50th Anniversary.

I've turned down a couple of offers in the $5K - $10K over MSRP range from brokers and other dealers for our 2 '16 allocations (non-R's). We have too many locals waiting for these cars to simply sell/ship them to another dealer.

They currently have the two 16' Tech Pack ones going for $35k ADM and they have a 15' Track Pack going for $75K over. The salesman mentioned that they sold a 15' R for $100K ADM

Dealers have the right to sell the cars for whatever they want, but dealers buying cars from other dealers and then doubling the markup is just straight up market manipulation.
But the end result is the same ... so it's all "market manipulation". And the person accepting this kind of manipulation is the one who buys it in the end.

Noted and now on my good list of dealers i'm willing to do business with.

All of this rambling in a single thread is impossible to read. Like I'm reading a bunch of random thoughts.
