I felt the gears made a big difference. With the 3.73's, the engine will run higher revs for any given speed compared to 3.15's. if you look at the v6's torque curve, all the torque is above 3k. the car will stay in the torque-ier part of the curve while you're driving it around. How big of a difference does the gears make. In Canada it comes with the 3.15 and you can get the 3.55 for an additional $500.
Which would be better? whats the difference?
The other part of the equation is the tune- the computer program that determines shift points. the stock tune is programmed more for mileage than performance. you can overcome this with your driving style, i.e. use of the throttle, or a custom tune. I understand you're trying to keep costs down, so use the throttle method.
