The V6 is a wonderful car.

do yourself a favor and go test drive one before you make any decision to buy a new car, and remember some things are worth waiting forNo I haven't. But, because of the cost it is kind of out of the question for me.
GT does make better sound, but you will spend a lot more to get it. And plenty of people want even more sound, so they drop another grand in the aftermarket. Then if they wind up the motor when departing for work in the morning, they annoy their neighbors. Which depending on the neighbors can be either good or bad.I should rephrase what I said. I meant it sounded like a sedan. Felt was totally the wrong word.
Personally I would love to get the GT but I live in Calgary where it snows pretty much 5-6 months throughout the year. Have that much power in the rear could be unsafe considering it would be a daily driver for me year round. Furthermore, I don't have the money for a GT (despite wanting one).
How big of a difference does the gears make. In Canada it comes with the 3.15 and you can get the 3.55 for an additional $500.I've had both. if you can't afford the v8, get the v6 and either order it with 3.73 gears or save up and install them. My 2011 v6 with 3.73's moved pretty well, though it costs you a couple of mpg's on the highway. It was super reliable, too. 74k miles on it and only repair was to replace a thermostat.
lower gears will give you a better launch off of the line, but once the car is moving it doesn't make much difference. With the V8, the motor is best above 3000 RPM, and at that RPM I am sure it doesn't matter what's in the rear diff. Just shift gears to keep the engine in the power band. How big of a difference does the gears make. In Canada it comes with the 3.15 and you can get the 3.55 for an additional $500.
Which would be better? whats the difference?
The GT sounds like it has a muzzle on it. Even my wife said "you need to get an exhaust, this car is too quiet". With the resonator even when rev'ing the engine it is WAY too quiet. Aftermarket exhaust depending on axleback, axleback+mid pipe, catback, one of these options plus headers etc is anywhere in the neighborhood of $300-1,200+. Personally, I want loud and violent so $500 out the door for an H pipe and muffler delete axlebacks.GT does make better sound, but you will spend a lot more to get it. Yeah exactly, if I wanted a normal car to drive every day, a v6 s550 is more than enough car and I'd rather have that than my gtpp with crazy 3.73's and gobs of torque. My gtpp is just a toy to look at and go drive around when there's no traffic, a track day, or an occasional summer road trip.I got the V6 because I didn't want to put ~60 miles a day on my IS. As it turns out the V6 is amazing. I just recently tuned with a tune that I got from Torrie from Unleashed. It became alive. features wise you're pretty much getting everything from a base GT minus the engine.
Its a solid car. I love my V6.
