No I haven't. But, because of the cost it is kind of out of the question for me.
do yourself a favor and go test drive one before you make any decision to buy a new car, and remember some things are worth waiting for:D

I should rephrase what I said. I meant it sounded like a sedan. Felt was totally the wrong word.

Personally I would love to get the GT but I live in Calgary where it snows pretty much 5-6 months throughout the year. Have that much power in the rear could be unsafe considering it would be a daily driver for me year round. Furthermore, I don't have the money for a GT (despite wanting one).
GT does make better sound, but you will spend a lot more to get it. And plenty of people want even more sound, so they drop another grand in the aftermarket. Then if they wind up the motor when departing for work in the morning, they annoy their neighbors. Which depending on the neighbors can be either good or bad. So given that, you can run the V6 towards its red-line whenever without worry, given the limitations of traction in bad weather.

GT should be fine for light snow but you will want dedicated winter tires. Same with the V6 really.

If funds are any sort of question mark, I would try for a good deal on V6 / manual and fun with it.

I've had both. if you can't afford the v8, get the v6 and either order it with 3.73 gears or save up and install them. My 2011 v6 with 3.73's moved pretty well, though it costs you a couple of mpg's on the highway. It was super reliable, too. 74k miles on it and only repair was to replace a thermostat.

How big of a difference does the gears make. In Canada it comes with the 3.15 and you can get the 3.55 for an additional $500.

Which would be better? whats the difference?

The V6 is a great choice if performance isn't your top priority.

Also note that the EB you drove at the dealer probably had 87 gas in it. 93 wakes it up a bunch if you get in the boost. I assume it was an automatic? If it is a DD, you probably won't notice the difference very often.
I grew up in upstate NY and I doubt I'd get a Mustang if I lived where there is snow on the ground for 5 months of the year. But I understand the allure. It is a great looking car. The V6 with the 051A package is a great deal.

lower gears will give you a better launch off of the line, but once the car is moving it doesn't make much difference. With the V8, the motor is best above 3000 RPM, and at that RPM I am sure it doesn't matter what's in the rear diff. Just shift gears to keep the engine in the power band.

if cars sales are anything like they are in my parts, you can get much more aggressive pricing with cars that are sitting on the lot. Get into autotrader or equiv, and search a radius that you are willing to drive to and sort by price. If you find a good price, you can always call a local dealer and see if they can match that, or meet in the middle.

the point being that 3.55 might be slightly more fun, but most dealers probably stock V6 / 3.15 and I wouldn't pay a premium on a custom order just for that.

I got the V6 because I didn't want to put ~60 miles a day on my IS. As it turns out the V6 is amazing. I just recently tuned with a tune that I got from Torrie from Unleashed. It became alive. features wise you're pretty much getting everything from a base GT minus the engine.
Its a solid car. I love my V6.

The GT sounds like it has a muzzle on it. Even my wife said "you need to get an exhaust, this car is too quiet". With the resonator even when rev'ing the engine it is WAY too quiet. Aftermarket exhaust depending on axleback, axleback+mid pipe, catback, one of these options plus headers etc is anywhere in the neighborhood of $300-1,200+. Personally, I want loud and violent so $500 out the door for an H pipe and muffler delete axlebacks.

Yeah exactly, if I wanted a normal car to drive every day, a v6 s550 is more than enough car and I'd rather have that than my gtpp with crazy 3.73's and gobs of torque. My gtpp is just a toy to look at and go drive around when there's no traffic, a track day, or an occasional summer road trip.

I rented a v6 and it was enough to make me fall in love with the car. Enough said.

v6s are rental cars. No but seriously, I would've possibly gotten it if they offered a premium option but outdated interiors are not my style. Plus EB is faster better mpg, etc..
