Just look at the instantaneous mpg, you should get it then. I get 200mpg in my Golf while going downhill :headbang:

Managed 99.9 last night in the BMW.

Downhill out of gear lol

This guy got 24.5 US mpg in the V8 over a 50 mile run, mostly highway with some city. That's nearly 30 mpg in the UK.
60mph with the cruise control on could get that quite nicely I think.

My current car is only supposed to get 46mpg on the motorway - but at 60mph rather than 70mph the live MPG shoots close to 60.

When I had my Camaro auto v8 15 years ago, i got just over 31mpg on a long gentle run from Southampton to Leeds. But I usually got around 21 to 24 on mixed driving - and less around town. That's why I have ordered the EB!

I have a feeling they may be better than we think!

My current tuned 1.6 Turbo (City Car) is giving me 2MPG when I floor it and 16MPG in total, it can't be that bad right? ;)

I came across an interesting video the other day - warning for EB owners. Basically don't floor it when your cruising in a high gear (mainly 6th)!

May not be news to some but for me it was a good tip that I wasn't aware of...

Been watching his weekly update and seen this. Doesn't sound good. Although I wouldn't have expected to floor it in 6th and overtake.

Assume if you had stock engine no tunes and weren't a nut job if this happened then warranty would cover it?

It should if it can be proven that it was an engine failure and not due to aggressive driving.

The guy In the video has been driving for a full year In his ecoboost , has reasonable miles on it and has a Cobb tune and CAI fitted. But he said it pumped out a cloud of smoke and was OK after.

But who would floor it in 6th to overtake anyway?

Actually alot of people does it. Mostly novice MT drivers lol. There was even a review video of the eb on yt where the reviewer said "no need to downshift, we can just overtake in 6th and this car does it so easy and so well, just mash the pedal" I'm going to try to look for that video lol.

A car shouldn't have any issues overtaking in 6th gear. Yes, mashing the pedal is a unnecessary but it should cause 0 issues.

If there is a problem with his EB in 6th with a full throttle then he should take it to Ford ASAP. If its an issue caused by the actual engine design then Ford will probably issue a recall somewhere down the line.

To be honest my understanding and experience of driving MT and in 6th gear is that it's a cruising gear. I would always drop to 5th/4th to overtake. There is not instant acceleration in 6th on any car I've driven.

A lot of Americans come from autos with kickdown therefore habit may cause them to floor it in 6th. Us born an bred stickshifters know to drop a gear or three... ;)

I've had no problems with my Focus ST overtaking in sixth. No, I don't do it in on an A/B Road, but it is so torquey that this is fine for the motorway. I don't mash the pedal, I just apply pressure until it feels like any more isn't actually giving extra thrust.
