Hey, guys fairly new to the forum. Been reading a lot the past couple weeks. Just wondering what turbo upgrades you guys recommend or a few venders to look at. I know MAP, FFTEC, and VTT are coming with upgraded stock turbos. Really just looking to get to that 400/400 mark and maybe more later on. Also if any of you guys are in or close to VA, what are some good performance shops to look at for installation if you know any.

There was a guy who did a MAP kit with a Precision 5558 but I have not seen results. I'm interested in that for a 400/400 car with higher potential later. I am also waiting to hear more about the CPE kit that should be amazing and the VVT Stage 2. Unfortunately the last 2 options aren't out so there is not enough information to say how good those setups will be.

I'm assuming your max goal would be somewhere around 450/420. I would go with the VTT stage 2 or a PTE 5558/EFR/GTX equivalent if you want an aftermarket turbo. I'm around 400/400 right now on a 6062, and it feels awesome. Lag isn't bad at all, and power delivery is a helluva lot smoother than I had initially thought it would be. A faster spooling turbo would be great at my current power level, but as you move that curve farther to the left, stock internals might give out, so drop in rods and studs could be beneficial. Only reason I went with a bigger turbo is because I'm eventually building the block and my power goal is well above 400whp. My manifold and downpipe were fabbed my MAP.

Thanks I'll def give them a look and call when I figure out what kit I'm going with. Heard about the CPE kit, I think they said after SEMA so I'm guessing any day now. Def wanna give that and the VTT stage 2 a look.

I'm curious about CPE and other kits showing up. I was dead set on a VTT2, but I may want some turbo overhead so I can turn the wick up relatively easy once the built bottom end goes in. I also want a new DP setup and some other changes. (Plus those BT kits just look right under the hood).

My goal is a consistent 10.8ish street car that I can work into the mid 10's incrementally.

I have the MAPerformanc kit with the 5558 ball bearing turbo. Still working on the tune so no hp#'s just yet but should be in the 400's easy! It feels amazing spools very fast. I live in the central Virginia area if u want to check it out some time. Also it was a very simple install I could help if you need it

I am personally waiting for a company to keep the twin scroll design intact. I know CPE is doing this but I already know what their atmosphere kits go for. Plan on spending $4000-$5000 which for me I would pass :-(

don't be so sure:cheers:
the goal for this kit is to be priced competitively while offering true advantages over the competition
examples being
true twin scroll design and cast stainless manifold:thumbsup:

Does anyone make a turbo manifold and downpipe yet? I would be nice to see a mustang with a GT/GTX 3076R

I might have to take a look. I see you're from Prince George and I work in Dinwiddie so I'm basically right there.
