For those of us in California or other smog crazy states, would it be possible to pass smog with a VS2 kit but stock downpipe, intake and some sort of emissions friendly tune?

Well, I said I was going for bigger numbers than this turbo would support. Lol It's an absolutely great turbo. And if I wasn't wanting to do more with the car, I wouldn't even think about selling it.
No I hear ya, just saying if you have not maxed this unit yet, why not get there, then see how you feel about going up from that, unless this is just a I want to hit X number thing, and I get that too. Some people have goals lol.

Juben, did you run the quarter mile with the VS2. If so, what was the time?
I never got to make any passes in the 1/4 mile, Billy. The closest 1/4 mile tracks are nearly 2 hours away while I have 5 1/8 mile tracks within a 20 minute to 1 hour drive. Given what it was running in the 1/8 mile, I'd imagine it would be 11.6s-11.7s easily and maybe even a tad faster. It was flat hauling in the 1/8th trapping at 94-96 mph almost every run (unless I screwed up ).

Your not even close to maxing the turbo out then. I trapped well over 102 in the 1/8 with the standard stage 2 Vargas, that's at 3745 lbs.

My goal is 600 whp, so I figure that I might as well go ahead and swap out right now while I'm building my engine and it's out. So again, if anyone is interested in a VS2 for a good price, PM me.

Should have no problem passing emissions with this turbo. It does not alter any emissions provisions on the car
