Replacing stock seats, what are the options?

So... I like my Ecoboost Mustang. However, I have two problems both related to the stock seats.

1) My head is about 1.5~2cm from the roof of the car. Leg room is good, but I removed the sun visor because it actually helped me with visibility.

2) After about an hour the stock seats (Ecoboost Premium) are killing me around the thighs. I'm 6'3 and 180lbs...

I am thinking of getting a pair of Recaro Ergomods. However, if they do not fit in the car, or worse, boost me up higher, it's a non-starter.
When I'm back in my home area I'll try sitting in a bunch of racing seats, see if they are comfortable.. but I'd like to keep that side airbag. It'll be awhile before I can act on this, but I'd like to get some info before going out myself. There isn't a great deal on switching out seats in the 2015 Mustang from what I can find...

Any ideas/tips on lowering the seat, or getting a replacement that is comfortable and keeps the airbag?
(And yes, I lowered the seat all the way.)

Ford Racing Recaros maybe. They keep the side airbags.

I'm 6'4" and 220lbs and my head has plenty of room, I have no visability issues, and the seat was comfortable enough for me to drive 4 hours straight to the beach a few weeks ago. Maybe look into adjusting your seat :shrug:

I'm 6'4 and 185 lbs and have no issues with seating. Stock leather non-recaro seats. Are yours cranked way up? I have more than 4 inches from my head to the roof.

I've got the heated-cooled seats, with the motor-adjustment... And it's all the way down. I even poked around under the seat to look for levers to lower the seat, but no luck. (Though there is a large box under the seat.)

Are the seats on some brackets that raise and lower it?
Or is the mechanical adjustment on the seat itself all its got?
(Else I'm going to have to chalk this problem up to my long torso..)

6'4 228 and seats in leather seats in my GT have plenty of headroom

How about leaning the seat back more? Gives you more head room and the steering wheel telescopes out towards you so it wont cause a reaching issue. Kills back seat room if that matters to you but should help create more head room. Just an idea.

Yeah, it's a good idea.. I did that as much as possible while still getting a good grip with the steering wheel fully telescoped out.
(Fortunately, I don't have anyone in the backseat...)

I must have a longer torso than most. (Genetics at work. So does my Dad.)

I have a BIG guy that works for me in the same situation. He just at 6' tall, but if his legs matched his torso he would be about 7' tall. To make matters worse, he tips the scales at 400+ lbs. so he barely fits in anything. He almost has to drive with his head sideways. It takes him a few minutes for him to get in and out of just about any car with his torso size and added girth.

They look nice.. when I'm back in the US I'll go up to the local motorsports guys and try sitting in 'em to see if the bolstering will keep the blood flowing on long drives. Do they mount at the same height as the stock seats or lower?

They mount lower, last weekend I've driven from northern Spain to Lisbon/Portugal, about 950 Kms return and I found them even more comfy then the PP stock ones.

With the plus that you shave about 40lbs of useless weight.

6'4" 240 and mine are too high, and my view out is bad. Naturally this gets worse with a helmet for track or autocross use. Some of us have long torso's rather than long legs.

The Ford Racing Recaros are crazy expensive, and I assume are the same height as stock (optional Recaros are the same height as the standard seats). Plus any airbag seat is going to be heavy.

Unfortunately the aftermarket seat & mount people do a lousy job of establishing how well their stuff fits (or adjusts the fit).

I have a set of aftermarket Recaros from my previous car and I am waiting for aftermarket mounts that will lower the seats a couple inches.
