Well with no other gear options out there only time will tell. But from what I've seen I would say yes it could use a different gear.
What rpm were you crossing the traps at?

With their 325/30/19 drag radial and a 120-122mph trap speed I calculated 7,000-7,100rpm at the stripe in 4th gear.

With a 4.10 rear gear they would have been between 7,700-7,800rpm at the same mph, or a maximum of 128mph before having to shift into 5th gear.

You can't go by what they went at the higher mph. the 11.96 run was @ 116 mph. The 122 mph was spinning.

What does spinning off the line have to do with anything?

At 116, engine speed would be around 6750.

Because the higher mph at the 12 second et shows he was spinning is what I mean.

That is irrelevant. At a trap speed of 120-122mph the engine will be spinning around 7,000-7,200rpm.

Well no kidding. What I am saying is that if a bigger gear was available it would cross at its shift rpm.

You asked a question which I answered. Is there something else you are confused about?

This is the calculator I used if you want to play around with gear ratios yourself.

Well being that I probably have more gear installs and drag racing experience then you how may I help you? And being that you weren't the driver of the car at the time of the race your calculations mean nothing to me. Besides I didn't know you were rob@evolution

lol what are you talking about. Experience and gear installs and blah blah blah doesnt mean anything when it comes to mechanical gear ratios, there is no rocket science or tom foolery involved. You asked a question, and were given an answer based on the facts. If you know the ground speed, rear tire diameter, rear gear ratio, and transmission gear ratio, you can arrive at engine RPM. All of the above data is published in the GT350 manual.

Imaginary rear gear sets at this point dont even matter, since they don't have any that fit the rear diff

350 lacks low end torque, I highly doubt it.

That's the long 1st you see.

Hmm, it has more torque and hp than a GT with a the 302, and mine will light up the track in 1st. It sure sounds like 2nd gear to me but I could be wrong.
