Most everyone describing their GT or ordered GT on this board appears to have ordered the Performance Package.
Before I actually ordered my car, I scoured the area looking for a GT equipped with Perf Pack . Not one dealer had one in inventory. Dealers I spoke with stated it was not a popular option since almost all buyers were not interested in higher performance or willing to undertake its ensuing cost.

In view of the almost universal decision of this forum members to purchase the performance pack option for their GT, it is clear that we are a special class of serious auto enthusiast who demand top performance from and equipment in their machines. Good to meet you, fellow gear heads!
It would've been nice if they offered the PP in automatic (like the Ecoboost). I don't like the lack of variety in selecting options in this car. Same with the wheels - hate that most of the wheel choices are all locked into one package or another. You'd think they would encourage you to buy your wheels from them, but it makes more sense to get the cheapest base wheels and then buy your own to get what you like.

Ordered GT with PP on 10/5/2015 and the VIN was provided on 10/20. Then on 10/29 I got a build date of 11/5. It was then delivered to the dealership on 11/12/2015. Mine seems to have come through a little faster than some others. But I don't have any reasoning or logic behind it, as it was a standard retail order with a priority code of 19.

You are the third person stating that their car was delivered in record time. I ordered mine the last week of October and I have a build date over a month later (Dec 7th). Apparently there was a slow down in Mustang orders throughout October and car builds were expedited. As way it looks, I will have about an 8+ week wait. Your car was shipped very efficiently and in short order. Good you received your new stang before the holiday season. Enjoy your car!

I honestly don't know the determining factors. I am only about 7 or 8hrs from Michigan, I don't know if that helps at all or not. I also purchased from a high volume dealership. But again, no idea if that means anything at all. I will find out soon though. A friend of mine, who lives about 25 minutes away, ordered one equipped very similarly, about 2 weeks ago. But he purchased from a smaller local dealer. Will see how quickly his comes in, in comparison.

Super: You are that close to Michigan???? I bet they still charge you the full $900 for shipping.
I bought a new truck two years ago and the freight charge was $1,200. Ouch!

Did your dealer pull the B.S. with the "accounting or processing fee" charge that they stick on your bill? Here in Florida, I see dealers now charging between $995. to $600. It is nothing more than a slap in the face to the purchaser as the slimy dealer rips you off with a totally bogus charge which goes straight into his pocket (and out of yours!) I have not love lost with car dealers and insurance salesman.

Yea man, not all that far from Michigan. I am only an hour from Ohio. I did indeed get the full $900 destination charge. I got the usual notary and paperwork fee's that added up to about $200 or so. I think the Xplan pricing caps the amount they can charge for "processing" type fee's. So that they can't totally rip you off on that.

I am using the X Plan and thanks for mentioning the processing fee cap that Ford puts on the deal. Good to know!

Hopefully that is the same in every state. I don't know all the "rules" on everything. But I know my finance guy told me there was a cap for them when they sell at xplan pricing.

Here is the information about what the Document Fees are capped at from the X-Plan Rules. There is also a 275 dollar admin fee that everybody pays for as part of the X-Plan pricing.

Document Fees

  • Dealers will be permitted to assess up to $100 in documentary fees on each delivery to an eligible purchaser under the terms of the Plan, unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation. Each dealer is responsible for complying with applicable laws or regulations.
  • Unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation: In states where dealers are not permitted to charge as much as $100 for doc fees, dealers would be capped at the lesser amount as provided by the state. In states that permitted more than $100, dealers would be permitted to charge the Plan customer $100. In states that permitted more than $100 and also required that all customers be charged the same amount, dealers may charge the Plan customer $100 and indicate any additional fees have been paid by Ford Motor Company as part of the AXZD-Plan Program dealer reimbursement on the buyer's order.
