Auto guys, concerns about not having PP?

I always had a manual Mustang. Had a GT bullitt and now own a 03 Cobra but I'm thinking about getting an 2016 GT Auto.
I just hate that Ford won't sell a PP Auto(I do plan to road race the car).
Have you guys modded your Auto to PP standards?
What have you installed and where did you get it from?

Didn't care about the PP. Did care that I got the auto.

Would have been all over the PP option if it had been offered with the auto.
Putting the PP wheels on now, may do the radiator later if warranted or the OE one busts. Doubt I'll do the brakes & I think I have the suspension covered with the Steeda stuff already being put on. Extra dash gauges would have been nice too, but way to expensive to retrofit.

They only mention Torsen with the 3.73's, so probably not, but I don't know that for a fact.

TORSEN is only in the PP cars.

I was informed all of the LE cars start as a GT with PP and you can get them in auto. So I guess technically you can get an auto with PP. It just takes getting the Limited Edition. That information came from a auto LE owner on this forum.

I owned a 2015 GT/PP. Very nice car, loved it! Hated the manual. I like the car so much I bought a 2016 GT Auto w/ 3.55's.

Everyone...or most everyone knows that for the $2,500... The PP is an excellant value. Except...it's only available w/ manual :frusty:

You can build a PP and yes of course it will cost more than OE PP. But if you want an auto, you'll have the car you want...not the car Ford wanted you to have. Thats basically my plan. Add better suspension than PP, better wheels, add the brakes...but not necessary. My non-PP brakes stop excellent and now I have less brake dust then I used too. Also, now without Brembo's...more wheel choices.

If your not going to track than you won't need the radiator upsized. The gauges did look good but weren't very useful. My 2016 came with the firewall K-brace, the strut tower brace would end up on the shelf anyway when I add the SC.

The Torsen is a good item...but again if not tracking...not needed. There is another plus to non-Torsen rearend, if you had to in an emergency, put a smaller Dia. Wheel on one side of the rear because of a flat, you could drive on it without ruining the Torsen.

Just a few ideas for you to think about.

This is true...and a good point. I considered that option. The reason I didn't is because the PP option is $2,500. The cost to do most...not all of course of the PP items after market is as much as 3x's that amount. However the cost of an LE would be a lot more than that and...the interior is WHITE! :headbonk:

Decisions...

The plan for the car is to go either Hellion or Whipple.
The main reason for the auto is that I know it can handle the power way better than the manual.
I loved the manuals over the year but really wanted to try the auto this time, specially with the experiences I hear about the manual transmission and the clutch that comes with it. It's not a cheap

I would also REALLY like to get the PP upgrades, specially the TORSEN, the brakes and the radiator straight out of the factory.
I really distrust shops and I know I don't have the expertise to install a TORSEN setup. I've had gears whine and other issues on the past.

I don't get Ford at times... :shrug:
