Has anyone ever felt their plastic radiator cover? I had my hood opened today and when you touch it, it feels warm and sticky. Almost like its kind of melting. Is this normal?? Has anyone touched their radiator cover and noticed its kinda tacky / sticky feeling?

would that be under the insulator or the insulator itself that seems to be melting ?

The plastic cover you see immediately when opening the hood. It's held down by several push pins

Are you sure its not sticky due to grease and debris from the road?

This engine is impossible to keep clean partially due to how it sits compared to S197s and also the pesky hood vents.

Mine is perfectly fine, doesnt get sticky just hot.

My guess is someone used a non-water-based plastic dressing on it at some time. Wash it good with a quality car soap and see if that doesn't fix it. The dealerships' detailers use weird products sometimes.

^^This.
Deal with it all the time. Dealers and car lots use greasey dressing to try and make things look nice. It's awefull. Attracts dirt and feels like the plastic is covered in tacky goo or melting.
