- First off...that damn rubber trim around the top of the air box...man what a pain in the ass! LOL It took me the better part of an hour to get that thing on. The corners tend to bunch up on the inside and makes it hard to get it seated correctly. But once installed it looks really nice and gives it a smooth factory-like finish.

- The velocity stack and the elbow tube don't quite match up at the same angle when securing them together with the supplied coupler. It was off a few degrees but I made it work.

The filter is MASSIVE! This thing could probably hold a King sized cup from Burger King.

The sound! Wow...just, wow! This CAI definitely adds some grunt to the overall sound of the motor coupled with the howl from my Corsa exhaust. The intake temps were lower, I noticed 5 degrees above ambient. No driveability issues noted, throttle response is the same as stock. I'll get to a dyno at some time to run another baseline and see what I picked up.

Great write up.

1. That rubber was a little tricky at first but after I figured out that first corner I got it on pretty easily with a rubber mallet......

2. I forgot about the 90 and Velocity Stack not fitting perfect I had the same issue but once it is on you cant tell.

3. Yeah that filter is a big bitch isn't she.

4. The sound is pretty impressive. it definitely makes its presence known. I ran the K&N for a while and it was no where near the sound that the Steeda puts off.

here is one of my shots with her cleaned up and re-charged

Here is one before I cleaned it. still need to remove the rest of the sound tube...

Thanks for sharing! So is there a reason you have the hood liner removed?

I just installed mine today... I also broke one of the U clips, those things can be tricky!

Also, anyone have problems closing the hood once they installed this? My hood closes but it's much more difficult now and it seems to protrude more on the side with the filter. Is that normal?

So I noticed that "The Menace" had his hoodliner removed and asked the question to him on why he had it removed back on post #94 but no reply as of yet.

Maybe this^ is this reason?

Hmmm, but then if you remove the hood liner then surely the BIG advantage of the seal to the hood (the box) is no longer that good?!

NOPE not the answer, i can tell you my hood sits 100% flush. I have 0 issues closing my hood, and it does not stick out more on that side.

My hood closes just fine too.

I'm still thinking about making a lid for this intake.

Spoke to David a couple of days ago, I'm going with the Steeda power pack
(CAI/tune) as well. Blue filter is going to look sweet when I lift the hood on my blue biotch & pop my collar LOL.
