I picked up a set of jacking plates that are really well made and light at only 2.2 lbs each, which I prefer to the full jacking rails weighing over 20lbs per set. Ford said they stiffened the S550 chassis by 30% over the already fairly stiff S197 so I don't think full rails are needed for rigidity.

Interesting. What did those run you? A set is considered to be 4 correct?

Interesting. What did those run you? It looks like they bolt in. Is that correct?
$120 for the set. They are bolt-in. You drill two holes in each pinch weld, apply some silicone and bolt them up. I had a set on my Boss 302 for the last three years and they worked great.

Did you go with a single set or did you do two on each side?

Those are pretty nice pieces.

We had some developed, but the reason I prefer the rails is because (our design atleast) you jack them from the middle and use the end-pads for the jack stands.

With the pads, they are excellent for using to jack the car. My only complaint is, once it is jacked where do you put the jackstands?

I put them under the jacking points at the front and rear of the pinch weld where they're double walled. Or in the "old days" (S197) put the rears under the solid rear axle :p

I need to jack up the car by next weekend to do an oil change. for now I will maybe cut a slot on a piece of wood as a temp solution.

I haven't seen a lift point diagram yet, but I had it on jack stands last night using the pinch weld at the cutouts in the rocker panel trim. I assume every cutout is a designated lift point. The front control arms and where they're bolted to the frame look like other good spots. Has anyone seen a lift point diagram from Ford on the S550?

according to the manual, the lift point is marked by an triangle

"The vehicle jacking points are shown here, and can be identified by the triangle markings on the vehicle. Details are depicted on the warning label on the jack.
"

the "triangle" is marked under the plastic side skirt.
